Still makes me laugh...

Mr. Scot

The memory of hearing the words "With the 13th pick, the New York Jets select...Sheldon Richardson"

No lie. I really did 'laugh out loud', and I'm still laughing.

If ESPN ever does another video of Jets draft blunders, I hope that clip deserves to be on it.

Sheldon could turn out to be a really good football player and fill the role needed by the jets better than star would. They're two different players with two different skill sets.

Star was definitely the best pick for us, but its also possible Sheldon was the best pick for them.

Richardson wasn't liked around here because he wasn't that great against the run, which was something we needed badly. Which is why Star is a fuging Godsend. But Richardson has a lot of talent, great motor, good kid, ect. I think it was a great pick for the Jets. Play him outside in their 3-4. He can definitely improve on the run, but he's a great player.

Richardson plays the same position as Wilkerson, and Coples, who by the way, is now moving to OLB.

It's a dumb pick, not because of Richardson, but because it wasn't a position of need.

Either way I'm happy as Fuq.

Coples 6-6 285

Richardson 6-3 300

completely different types of players. Coples can play OLB. Richardson? no fuging way.

    • Rags lost again. All is right in the hockey world.
    • He’s responsible for two drafts classes. The first was one of the worst drafts I’ve ever seem. The second one is showing a ton of promise. I’m somewhere between skeptical and hopeful on Morgan.
    • I'm a big fan of Dan. His ability to find productive players deep in the draft will pay off.  I'm going to give him 1.5 draft classes right now, because I do think it's a little unfair to evaluate his first year when he got the job in January, especially when we went into that draft not having a first round pick.  XL and Brooks are still big time TBD players. Both still have incredibly high ceilings, but both have also given us legitimate reasons to have a lot of pause. Trevin Wallace, Chau Smith Wade and Jatavion Sanders have IMO outplayed their draft position early in their careers. That's a great thing. He also got Coker and Demani Richardson as UDFAs that year. Given the situation we were in, I really don't mind the gamble on the high ceiling guys. Still may work out, still may not, but if you made a checklist of ideal situation for an NFL GM to walk into, ours was near the bottom of that list.  Every single 2025 pick is contributing in some way. That typically doesn't happen. I am absolutely blown away by this draft class 6 games in. Even the best GM's miss on occasion, and we can't expect Dan to be 100% on drafts moving forward. Ryan Fitzgerald was an excellent find as well.  Comparing our last two drafts to the previous few is pretty shocking. Can you imagine this season without our Rookies? It would not be good. Additionally, this roster only has 6 players with more than 6 years of experience, and two of those are specialist.  The next step is equally important, and still very much TBD. We have to avoid Cap Chaos.
