NBA Finals Thread - (2) San Antonio Spurs vs. (1) Miami Heat

True, but if I'm the Heat next game, I play Anderson a ton inside and every man has to fend, or DEFEND, for himself. Man up and stay with your man the whole game. What they have done defensively against the Spurs to this point has clearly not worked.

I'd rather take my chances and make Parker and Duncan beat me one on one.

Except they let Anderson hang on the bench and kept Haslem in there, STUPID.

Green and Leonard have been fantastic on defending the wing this series.  Man the Spurs team is just really good.  Find me a team that selects and uses talent better than them.  I think Popovich is a better coach than Phil Jackson, and maybe of all time.

I also would do the same....because the other strategy has been a complete failure

Lebron just doesnthave that killer instinct that jordan and kobe have. Call it selfishness, but when they smell blood they want the ball every play. Lebron does it in spurts but as soon as they get going hes looking to pass again. He just needs to be like "this is my court, give me the fuging rock"

i think people get this impression because lebron isn't a pure scorer ala MJ and kobe.

I disagree. He can do anything he wants on the court. Yes he has court vision and can pass likd no other, but he can also score at will when hes feeling it. Whats holding him back is mental.

he struggles as a jump shooter and MJ/kobe scored a good amount of their points from mid range (and sometimes even long range) jumpers. lebron excels in the post and driving to the basket; his shooting percentage shows it.

I think it was obvious he lacked the instinct and competitiveness for the mere fact he wanted to build a team of other all-stars so he wouldn't have to be the only all-star.  Hasn't worked out lately though.

who has won championships as the sole all-star on their team? i can't think of many off the top of my head.

if you think jordan wasn't praying for another star on the team pre-pippen when he has getting smacked around by detroit then you're silly.

lebron has been to the finals 3 years straight. i'd say it's working out pretty will for him.

Yeah, MJ had one. Lebron has two, and also some guys on the bench that were all-stars too. Ray Allen, Rashard Lewis (but hardly plays I know), etc.

Didn't Rodman make any allstar teams? Even if he didn't he is still one of if not the greatest rebounders of all time.

Not saying this excuses Lebron but this notion that that Jordan did it all alone is bullshit. Yes Jordan is amazing the GOAT but his teams had other solid to good to a few great players on them.

Second time around, yeah, he had Rodman, etc, but he never scored points so he's like Birdman, obviously better but yeah.  First time, na.

    • Right, so basically what I said in my first post about this last night. Tepper needs to use that big wallet of his in one of the few ways it can be used in the NFL given the cap.   Give Scourton a bigger signing bonus but not a fully guaranteed deal. Everyone wins in that scenario as if Scourton is smart and hires good money people, he'll take that bigger signing bonus and use it to make more money in the end over the next 4 years than if he just had his fully guaranteed deal and a smaller signing bonus.
    • It is all confusing and layered. SB is the cash you get very soon within weeks or in simple terms, its what you get to sign the paper work. Players and agents can agree on contract but what to "wait" to sign......teams don't like that cause you can "Carlos Boozer" yourself. In order to get that ink dry, while keeping the contract the same, portion it as a bonus to "sign" and get the funds with ________ .   * But Ive seen worded contracts that split the SB or a 20% to a later date. The beans counters can fill in the details about why certain dates are better and save the team money.. Theres tricks to the trade and accounting is full of them.    Ugh another big layer, is SB can be used to manipulate cap and players. Ill try to give a example that makes enough sense. Believe it or not having a owner like Tepper is a cheat code for this. He has cash in hand, where as Mark Davis had problem making pay roll and had to move the team to Vegas....... Tepper can give you 100,000,000 SB right now and the team can spread out the cap hit. Another owner doesn't have or want to give the player 100,000,000 in cash, but offered the same guaranteed contract in roster bonuses fully guaranteed over the next few years........ Which one do you want??? Everyone wants the money now, not before another inflation waves hits in 2 years. So it does 'pay" to have a owner like tepper that's able to have real cash on hand, while it also works GREAT for cap help. Heres a good video, if you can stand coked up pat and mask look-a-like AJ
