And the hits just keep on coming for the Patriots

I really have not seen any fans here say anything about having "nice players" after a loss lol. Usually it involves rants about firing certain coaches or cutting a specific player immediately and erasing their name from history.

Are you saying that we are losing because we don't go after the bad boy type players? Just trying to  understand.

ugh. no.

i said i liked that we don't have players that aren't headaches off the field, but i wished it resulted in more wins. that's all. there's been very little reward for focusing on high character players. it makes for warm fuzzies. that's all. we have players that have stayed out of trouble, but it hasn't made us a more winning team. not that getting bad character players would make us win... tho, there's likely been a few guys we passed on because they had a sketchy past who could have brought more wins...when you limit the pool of talent for issues not relating to talent, you limit your possibilities of getting the most talented players.

and i'm not saying that people are saying outright that after a loss people are saying that it's ok because we have high character players, but i think many are ok with having a losing team because we have a likeable team. does that make sense? they accept losing because they like the guys on the team.

I am pretty damm sure there is no one on here that likes losing.

We have not been losing because we have "Nice Guys". We were losing because we lacked talent. Which is not a problem anymore. We have a bunch of talented players, who seem able to stay out of trouble.

I am also pretty sure most would rather win with nice guys. Than win and have our guys on the Police blotters.

Not even a close call.

The, "Woe is me because we don't win" crowd will grasp at anything to perpetuate the "Mediocrity" mindset. "Nice Guys" are not the curse some say they are. But hey, this is the interwebz.

As has been stated already. Plenty of teams win without having trouble makers. Some coaches and organizations just believe they can handle trouble makers. Seems to backfire quite a bit. I am glad I don't have to hear negative things like this about our players.

We are on the verge of being a pretty good football team. And we have a bunch of those "Nice Guy' players. Seems to be working for us.

Well I don't really think it's fair to say our Scouting Dept./Gettleman are limiting the talent pool without even knowing the inner workings or specifically their precise philosophy for what attributes they look for in each player.

I wasn't implying anything more than what i said. i wish that more wins came.

i like not having players that were headaches off the field, but i think we have tried for years to get players who were "nice guys" and many times that does translate into complacency. we've taken more pride in having good guys than wins and when the wins don't come we like to say it's alright cause at least we have players who are friendly and nice folks.

fans have become too complacent, mirroring the culture that was formed during the last half of the fox years. it's ok to have a losing team as long as you have players you "like".

I didn't imply that not having wins were okay because we had and or target, players of good character. I was simply saying that because of our good character players, we have mostly avoided bad character issues.

I don't think that fans have become too complacent about the lack of wins, I think that we're holding on to what we hope is coming but I must say that I do believe what we're hoping for is coming with Gettleman...

    • Immediately cast blame? We had been talking about the bad throws to Hunter (the missed TDs and hospital ball) for days leading up to that injury report.   And yeah, the rib injury then becomes something to point out.  and you are getting desperate with this projected extremism.  No one  said you should never throw seams.  I shared with you an article after you scoffed at seams being routes you can get hung out to dry on….and it was the best of the best talking about the dangers of those routes.   And they talked about it because they threw them a lot and there dudes were at risk so the throws really matter.  Because you can hurt your receivers.  we disagree, cool.  I got a pro Bryce former NFL QB calling it a hospital ball and bad throw.  So I got a plus +1 making my argument.  Find a QB that backs your take.
    • You exclusively highlighted Hunter's name on the injury report and then immediately cast blame. I've pointed out that this wasn't the hospital ball you claim it to be while also acknowledging that there could have been another option to target instead of Renfrow. By everything you've expressed here, you don't think seam routes should ever be thrown. I don't know how that helps the already struggling offense, but I do know that it would make it even worse than it already is. Scapegoating never has and never will solve anything. Tell you what: Try not blaming Bryce or casting shade his way for the entire week after Arizona and instead look at the other 21 starters and assess what they're doing (again, without shading Bryce). I'll join you and refrain from exploring what the rest of the team is doing and will focus solely on what Bryce needs to do better. Deal? This is a sincere peace offering to allow us to explore the other's perspective and perhaps be even more informed football fans.
    • TMac PI throw was a TD too.  Bryce just drastically under threw it.  Renfrow and TMac set themselves up to BOTH have great days.   the story of last of no one was open…..isn’t a defense the Bryce Young defenders can use so far this year
