SHOW ME THE LIGHT! How have Star and Short looked in Training Camp

Recommended Posts

I can tell you that the d-line was getting a really good push when the pads went on yesterday morning and I'm sure both Star and KK had a lot to do with that.... there was absolutely no room for Cam to step up in the pocket.

I think, and maybe its been stated before, that K. Short is Kris Jenkins 2.0 without the over eating!!!!

Short had a weight issue most of his life. He got under 300 around the combine for the first time since he was in middle school. So, that might not be exactly true.

Not that I am saying it's a problem.

Reports have been that Star looks tired, out of shape, and Amini completely dominated him a few days ago at practice.

Haven't heard all that much from Short besides a few tweets saying that he looks good and explosive.

Stop it

I have never read Short has had a weight issue. Purdue had asked him to play 320 and over 90% of the snaps. He feels most comfortable around 300.

You might be thinking of Kugbila with weight issues.

I'm sorry you haven't read it. The subject of his playing weight is in just about every article about him.

I am aware, but I don't see how he has had problems "maintaining" his weight when he has been asked to play heavy. That is inferring he has a problem when he obviously doesn't.

Read and watched several interviews with kk where he states Purdue asked him to play a certain weight, he did, but he feels most comfortable with around 300.

And that NFP article is retarded. It is assbackwards to everything we will be asking KK to do.  Now if you are talking about them coming into college and being overweight then yes, both kk and Star were, but it is wrong if you said they have had problems maintaining their weight when their respective programs asked them to play at a certain weight and they did.

    • Yards a game works better over a longer period of time as well. Averages always work out over the long run. The smaller the sample size the easier it is to skew. Also opponents matter more when the size is small. Player 1 lights up 2 bad defenses in 4 starts vs Player 2 playing 10 games vs multiple defenses. It hard to make it apples to apples how it currently sits. Remember during Bryce’s little run last year how annoyed you were when people were pulling Bryce’s starts from week 9 on vs the whole season.
    • Someone else claimed I said EVERY.  Literally in my post breaking it down it gave Bryce TDs per game.   Shough however has the majority in his favor if just looking at starts. whats subjective about comp %, yards, QB ratings and turnovers?  Now I guess the argument one might make off them could be subjective.  But all I’m saying is statistically as a starter he has been better this year overall.  I don’t think Shough is great.  I think he is impressive based on the situation.  2nd rounder stepping in on a bad team.   And he like so many other QBs…..serves as little red flag going off about what we are doing here offensively.
    • Player A - 2 starts.  200 yards in each start. He averages 200 yards a game.  Player B - 1 start.  Throws for 400 yards.  Comes in another random game and has 1 pass attempt on a Hail Mary to end the game that goes incomplete.   Now given the random game he appeared for a snap, he averages 200 yards a game. Thats why you isolate starts. If you are talking starter vs someone who began as a backup.  Simple made up numbers/situations to illustrate the point.
