Interesting tidbit on Beason's restructure...FA at end of the Season?

Saying we save 2.5 million when the fact is we have a cap hit of 8 million or 10.5 is the same logic my wife uses when she goes out and spends 200 dollars and wants to me to compliment her because she saved me 100 dollars. I know it is a savings since you would be the hook for much more but it doesn't feel that great.

He is going to have to play great this year to justify either number.

Hence my third and fourth sentence.

Would trading him be possible?

It would accelerate his dead money and add on 7 mil more in cap hit for this year. But since we wont have him next year anyway, it would save us a mil overall versus keeping him this year.... But id rather have beason than save a mil unless it was a substantial trade, such as a proven OG or DB. But I don't know if a team would give up anything worth much for someone who has missed so much time.

Gettleman named him the starter. Doubt it.

Who?

Gross is old and just essentially reworked his deal as if he was about to walk away.

Stewart is an expensive luxury who seems to be having a tougher time with his nagging injuries....and we added another Oregon RB who could really be ready to get reps after a year under his belt

Realistically, I think both are prime candidates for this to be there last year.

Looking at gross' deal I see very little chance he returns next season. Unless he plays for vet minimum or damn near.

Well draft a LT in round 1 or 2. It's a good year to get a WR or tackle

Gross' deal screams he is retiring. He also seems to be taking a noted interest in transitioning into a new possible career with his This Is Gross project.

No, his base salaries are too high. And we still get the dead money from the sign on bonus.

That sucks. Getting a substantial player for him. Although I realize he would not garner much trading fire power since he has not seen the field for what it seems to be 2 years.. Eh. Personally I think he wants out. Keek took his job really. Beason is a leader and is just amazing at the MLB. Maybe if he plays healthy and stays on the outside he will get used to it and would want to come back next year. Wishful thinking, I know.

Lol, you're jumping ahead again. You better learn to pace your expectations because Barner isn't going to be our starter this yea, nor next year. D-Will, J-Stew and Tolbert are gonna handle the load again (leaving Barner with minimal snaps).

The fact is Stewart is still young and been durable for majority of his career. Unless he struggles this year, the thought of G-Man releasing Stewart is absurd. Then again, you are the idiot who believes Gettleman is itching to unload Cam Newton.

Said nothing about Barner starting this year...

Next year, said with a year under his belt he would be ready for real reps. Real reps in a committee. He doesn't need to replace a starter....just be part of a committee

as far as Newton goes in a post Rivera era....I just acknowledge NFL history with new coaches. NFL history suggests no one should want RR fired....

    • If you need someone to run your multi-billion dollar business, maaayyyybe don't hire a guy whose previous work experience includes repeated blows to the head and literal brain damage but IDK.
    • Extrapolate that with every QB for that matter. I guarantee you there's quite a bit of missed opportunities and yards left on the field for everyone. Many NFL QBs deal with WRs not putting in A+ effort, subpar o-line play and other deficiencies. The great ones are able to rise above these issues and create opportunities for plays. Guys like Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes can both play in and out of structure, as well as find ways to get yards when things break down and mask mistakes by throwing guys open, creating opportunities from nothing, etc. Bryce Young has only shown he's able to make things happen when the rest of the team picks up his slack. Very rarely does he create those opportunities himself. When this is a consistent pattern year after year with Bryce where he shows up lackluster, it's a concern. This is year three and he should be elevating the team as a first overall pick this franchise traded up for.  He was far from elevating anyone against JAX. In fact, he needed others to elevate and create for him. Excuses may be fine for a rookie, but this is year three for the first overall pick. Not looking good so far.
    • I think the worst issue is coaching. Countless bad snaps, XL not getting his feet in or trying on runs plays, our centre being down field when he didn't need to be. All seem to be from poor coaching for me. I believe Canales is to soft to rip the players a new one when the fug up. Plus I honestly believe that Canales is slow getting his plays in giving Bryce less time to diagnose and adjust to the defence. Don't worry I could of head butted Bryce for that fumble and the 4th down throw aways but the other plays are explainable to me
