Flaw exposure

As long as no one gets hurt, i really want to see our weaknesses exposed against the Ravens. Reason being is that it should light a fire under Gettleman's ass to sign someone. If the exposure happens and nothing is done, expect a lame duck season thanks to Rivera's contract running out. Yah it's the preseason, but the line needed help going into the season and it's worse now than where it began. It's still up to first cuts, but Seattle traded the same guard twice (Moffit) as Cleveland failed and now he's going to Denver. I'd like to know why we weren't all over this?

This is a silly train of thought.  If you don't think Gettleman knows this teams weaknesses intimately than you don't have a lot of faith in the man.  If you think he doesn't have a team of people scouting other teams for possibilities to upgrade those weaknesses, again, I think you are wrong.

If you should be hoping for anything, it is that the players on our team show they can handle the starting role against good competition.  That way, we don't have our hand forced into paying way to much for a stop-gap veteran or being forced to trade away draft picks to secure the spot.

Well, he likely is the guy that watched David Carr in Carolina and thought....now that is the guy we need to be a play away from destroying our team.

I say that half joking. We don't know DG as well as we pretend.

For crying out loud, who gave this guy thread privileges again?

Same guy that let's you post this hate and personal attacks. If we look good, great. My problem is we've seen this before going into a season (especially at DT in the past) where we go in so short handed and nothing is done to bring someone in to help out. Dwan was the exception on that, but how long did we have that problem at DT? Took a season and a half to be like "hey maybe we should get someone." I just think if no attempt is made to bring in some depth or a potential starter, DG might be throwing away this season to bring in his guy next year.

Did you seriously just insinuate that Gettleman would tank this season just to bring in his own head coach?

LOL. Just go ahead and lock this dumpster fire.

    • Meh… I wish there was a network that has all sports.  This thing will fail.
    • Neither Barkley nor even a healthy CMC would move the needle much for us. Those are guys that impact teams that already have impressive overall offenses and defenses, so they can perform the complimentary roles that make them actually valuable. We should know that specifically because CMC almost never moved the needle on bad Panthers team after bad Panthers team. Ask Giants fans about that with Saquon.
    • I would generally disagree. You see a lot more load management than previously but that is because being healthy in the playoffs is such a key factor. Different philosophies in that regard than previous generations.  Baseball really doesn't matter until at least halfway through the season. I am not gonna say they don't play hard but the physical demands are infinitesimal in the MLB in comparison to basically any other major pro sport.  People dislike all the shooting these days but that's a direct correlation with how much the overall skill level of the average NBA player has drastically risen over the past 15ish years. There are other aggravating factors, certainly, but that is the biggest one in terms of playing style differences. So many of the guys from the 80's and 90's wouldn't even be able to play in the modern NBA at all. The biggest problem the NBA has with the American market(they are the only US sport that has any real international appeal or interest, minus the NHL) is that they are so steadily corrupt and fix the systems against the small market teams. Well, you eventually lose a big chunk of the league viewership/potential viewership in the process. Take the very obviously fixed NBA draft lotteries. Superstar and upper tier star players rarely want to play for small market teams, nor can they usually afford to pay them. So how do you expect them to possibly compete in that environment?
