Jimmy didnt live up to expectations..that for sure. That said, NO player on our team deserves the same kind of outright hatred and disdain he has gotten from people here..certainly not from people who claim to love the team.

He may never [produce the spark for our team or any other, but with that said he IS a member of our team, did face a difficult situation....didnt complain or mope on the sidelines about his situation, and has steadily improved over the time. He likely will never be starting caliber for any team in this league, but at the end of the day he does have an NFL contract..something thousands of football players across the country wish they could say, and at a minimum deserves respect for that (or at least, deserves not to be treated like gutter trash by low class so called fans)

No man. He had his shot. He has shown no growth. He completed a few passes in preseason and people think he's turned the corner. He is still doing the same thing he did his rookie year. He either can't read the field or he is too scared to play the game. He never throws down field and give his WR's a chance to make a play. If Clausen has to play Steve Smith, David Gettis, Tedd Ginn and LaFell all might kill him.

Nearly every single play he's in he waits too long then rolls out to throw it out of bounds or some cheap completion that doesn't do sht.

He was given a starting job he didn't earn and it was basically because of his play that our season was so atrocious. When Brian St. Pierre can come in, put points on the board and get a rookie WR over a 100yds and the game of his career you know something is wrong. If you want to feel bad for someone feel bad for Matt Moore. That's a guy that never got a fair shake.

We've had some bad QB bust the last few years. From linart to sanchez to quinn, no wonder the league and college football is turning a new leaf and stopping the demand for those types.

I am sick of people ragging on Jimmy Clausen. He was throw into the fire on Coach Fox lame duck year. Shoot Cam keep throwing like he has he wont be in the league long. Vince Young anyone ?

Well, the league is changing buddy. The Vince Young type players are in high demand these days. If you're 6'2-6'6, run a 4.4-4.5 and can sling a football you're bound to be selected top 10. There is no Clausen type that fit that category. So, get used to it. Cam will be in this league for some times. Find yourself a couch, get your popcorn ready and get ready for your weekly aneurism.

Vince Young wasn't a bust, after all. Actually, he was great success. But you don't know why. Joke's on you!

the blind hatred for clausen forces to people to not remember he was never supposed to see the field as soon as he did.

He was supposed to be babysat, stand on the sideline and collect a free paycheck? Those days are long gone. Thanks to Cam.

Clausen was a 2nd round pick.  QBs taken in the 2nd are usually looked at as guys who need a year to develop. I dislike Jimmy just as much as the next guy but he never really was given a fair shot. He was thrown into the fire with rookie wideouts and an all pro receiver who hated his guts. He's shown no improvement over the years but we didn't really even give him a decent chance to succeed in his rookie year.

Realistically Jimmy should be remembered as one of the biggest busts of all time. People were touting him as a future superstar and the next Kurt Warner. Hell, there was even a debate on whether he should be taken at #1 instead of Sam Bradford. The only reason he fell as far as he did is because at that time not a lot of teams were looking for QBs.

Not given a fair shot would mean keeping him off the field. Once a player is put in the starting line up that's all the fair shot they deserve. The NFL is a violent for everyone who gets drafted. QBs are not exceptions. The days the QB sat on the sideline and watch the team built for them then walk in and take all the credits when they start winning is over. Clausen is a bum. He is one of the reason franchises are more apprehensive at drafting his type high in the draft. Nowadays Clausen is a 5th round bum like nassib and barkley. The media try hard to get those bums drafted high every year.
