Madden 25

As a madden apologist I think this is the worst Madden ever.

One play stretch run that go 80 yrds...kick returns that score easily...defense that does not react to passes.

Saw a lot of hate for Madden 13 but defense actually reacted and all they needed to do was calm down the pass lead system.

Oh well...EA is far from perfect in Madden but the game shouldnt regress like this...however my least favorite madden was 12 n this is the same development team who did that.

Yeah, the defense doesn't feel right at all. On all-madden settings, the game just becomes a shoot-out. I'm not a fan of it.

Exactly i play in online franchises and had a game where i lost 63-56.

We both felt dirty afterwards especially as i mistakenly did a QB wrap with Tony Romo n he runs for 20 yards and scores a td stiffarming his FS... It was funny n sad. I have the Panthers in another franch n use panthers playbook so just called a play before realizing my QB is not Cam.

do defensive backs twenty yards off the ball with their backs turned from the play still hyperwarp across the field to make one-handed interceptions snatched from the receiver's hands?

or ghost through your receiver's body from behind to make the play?

do the perimeters of the screen still eliminate the receivers from vision when you hike the ball so if you're throwing smoke routes or quick bubble screens you're basically blindly hucking it into a blind spot?

madden hasn't been good since 08 came out.

honestly only saw that in M2005 - the year they supposedly toughened up the defense (by doing what you described)

Probably. Their collision detection is always off

So you're the guy who hasn't bought a widescreen yet.

I need to get 25 - been replaying 10 and 11 on PS3 since my 360 bit the dust. Maybe I adjusted some settings somewhere but I don't remember having this problem.

I know I always check for an obvious corner blitz and set that WR to run a go route. I never throw blindly and time it where the WR is past the blitzing CB before the safety gets to him.

I don't remember 08, but they did a major engine change for M10, which AFAIK was the last major change to the game engine.

i have a 55" but you still couldn't really see the periphery. poor design IMO

my wife bought me madden 13 for my birthday. i plugged it in today and played it, started toying with the franchise mode, and an hour in i just shut everything down without saving it. absolutely useless. i'm incredulous that so many basic structural problems exist on this thing. how can EA sports possibly be this deaf to its consumer base?

also that composed soundtrack is fuging awful. if i want a goddamn orchestra i'll go pay money to see one.

This happened to me last night. I destroyed my brother with Carolina vs. Green Bay and Seattle earlier in the day. He picked Denver and on the very first play I had Smitty running a smash route while LaFell was doing a quick curl. Fuggin DRC drifts back to follow Smitty, leaving LaFell wide open. I hold down and throw it to LaFell to put it at his feet, only for DRC to peel off of Smitty, jump the route 10 yards down field, and take it back for a pick 6.

The next play I hit Hartsock for 30yds over the middle and as soon as he got hit the ball shot out literally into one of his player's hands about 10 yards in the opposite direction.

The 3rd play I had Smith uncovered down the seam as the FS had drifted to cover Olsen. I toss the bomb and somehow Ignacho or whatever his name is not only gets back in time, he overruns Smitty and gets the pick. 3 plays, 3 turnovers. All computer assisted.

It's games like those that make me despise Madden.

Oh, and the top ranked player has something like a 96% to 3% pass to run ratio.

    • Derrick Brown was one player I never called or even suggested was a bust . Dude was young and hadn't even hit his stride. It takes time to learn the position. The thing I appreciated about him is that he kept improving season after season. He got paid and keeps on going like the Energizer Bunny.
    • How many teams coddle their QB the way Bryce has been coddled? I have never seen any other team in the NFL EVER baby a QB the way that Bryce has been.  Bryce was named day 1 starter his first year. It was obvious he didnt deserve it. He wasnt ready as evidenced by the worst rookie year in NFL history.  So let's move to year 2. He's named starter again with no competition in TC and is benched 2 games later. We have the ghost of a backup in Dalton who is so bad he can only beat Vegas and let's remember, the only reason he lost his starting job was a car accident, not because Bryce actually beat him out in practice.  And year 3. We sign Dalton again, who already proved he couldn't be depended on to put an even remotely passable performance on the field, and bring back Jack Plummer, who was even worse than last year. It was obvious he was nothing more than a pretend body in an attempt to create an illusion of some type of attempt to find a backup.  Then we start again with garbage play again and Bryce gets benched with a phantom injury, and the ghost of the ghost of Dalton breaks his thumb on the first drive and craps the field all over again. If we had actually made an attempt to find a legitimate QB2, it's possible Bryce doesn't step on the field again. Bryce is not agood QB and if we had any other mediocre QB, our record would be the same or better.  Bryce is not entrenched. He's been placed, protected and sheltered from ever having to face a  real QB competition in TC. Richardson and Levis both were ass and both were benched and eventually replaced.  Do I expect Baker to face competition in camp? Sure. I expect Tampa to find the best QB2 they can at price that fits their cap and resources and system and get him up to speed. If he's better than Baker, and if he's better by a significant margin, that's best for the team. The ultimate goal is a Super Bowl. Bellichek was constantly getting QB2s with the GOAT as his starter. He knew the value and that was realized when Cassell led them to an 11-5 record as a backup.  You and I may think differently than the people that matter but I will say it again. If you're afraid to bring in a capable backup, especially after the debacle of last year. The starting role wasn't earned, it was given, and that's loser mentality.
    • I would have done the same thing.  LSU is a much better job than Ole Miss.  Plus the enormous contract and every advantage a college team can offer in terms of recruiting and facilities and tradition etc
