Describe what it's like to be a Panther fan

It's like being on the beginning of a highly anticipated roller coaster and just as you reach the top where your suppose to have that exciting drop....it breaks down.

Everyone then gets off the ride disappointed. Next summer you head back to the ride after a year of build up. You get back in line, strap yourself in, and as soon as you reach the top....it breaks down again.

That my friend is what it feels like to be a panthers fan.

Know how when you have a significant other that keeps on treating you like crap, but the next day they say they love you and will change. so you believe them, and you believe in your heart things will get better. And then they act worse than before. Kind of like that.

Like somene who is 30 years old, works as a Wal Mart door greeter and still lives at home with their parents but drives a nice loaded Benz, expensive clothes and wears a Rolex but at the end of the day.. Just a Wal Mart greeter that lives at home and no money in the bank.

We are a Panthers team that has the bright and shiny Rolex in Luke Kuechly, the loaded Benz in Cam and the expensive clothes in CJ and Hardy but at the end of the day, despite the back to back OROY/DROY awards, despite the record breaking rookie QB in Cam, all we have is a 13-19 record to show for it and not a winning season in the bank. But hey, we sure do have those fancy stats! Who needs wins right?

    • I think what makes a qb elite is when every week you think your team has a chance to win because of your qb. No matter who they play, they always make you feel like you have a chance. I have not gotten that feeling once while watching Bryce.
    • Great point!  The quotes from O'Connell about teams failing rookie Qbs and the one about how you coach them after 3 picks and a loss were really interesting.  To me, an idiot with a keyboard, it means NFL teams need to be patience if they are going to have quality QB play. So bringing me to Bryce, is there some benefit to being patient.  I know it's not a particularly popular opinion around here, and even I am having a hard time wrapping my head around it.  Most QBs, when benched lose their confidence.  It takes a LONG time to get it back.  Bryce on the other hand was benched, and came back a different player.  I feel like that's worth a lot more than the physical talents of a guys like AR15... I think Bryce has the mental make up to be a good NFL QB.  His problem will always be his tools.  Now it's on coaching to work around that.  Bryce is more physically gifted than late years Drew Brees (low bar, I know).   While I'm content to see what happens this season, there's a small part of me that says...maybe we should see what grows?  (let me duck and hide from the well earned vitriol the Panthers have earned). Then again, I agree that some guys get it while others just don't.  I'm still hoping for the Panthers and Bryce to find success this season.  But if not, I won't be too surprised if the plug is pulled and there is a restart.
