After rushing him back the last two seasons they probably finally figured out that isn't a good idea. Bringing him along slowly the first month or so and having him dull strength down the stretch is better than throwing him out there full go week 1 then seeing him in sweat pants come November.

I have been warning people to temper their expectations of Jon.

Ron may make him the token starter, but I doubt he plays many snaps. We have good depth. Bring him along slowly.

 

He said he expects around 30 snaps. Nothing to sneeze at.

Ron said in the presser that it was a day off.  Beason was "tired and sore" after Mondays practice and the team decided to rest him.  Expects him back tomorrow and to play Sunday.  Beason met with the team trainer who said everything was fine.

      The good thing about replacing a bad player is you really have nothing to lose. If their replacement is bad so what, you didn't get much worse and probably saved money.

      I came over from the old Panthers Insider site. When Fox Sports bought that platform it slowly just started dying plus the guy who ran that site was dealing with some pretty significant health issues so the whole thing just slowly fell apart. Quite a few of us migrated over here. Not sure how many are still around.  I miss that place. It struck a nice balance of having enough active posters to keep productive conversation flowing but didn't have so much traffic that you end up with a lot of trolling BS. This place is getting there though since we shutdown new registrations but at some point we're going to have to open it back up or we'll watch this place slowly die off too as posters fall off for one reason or another. We just have to figure out a way to filter out the spam bots. It was a never ending battle to ban the spam bots to keep then from overrunning the site. You'd think they'd be a little more strategic. I mean, if you fill a site with nothing but spam people are just going to stop coming so it's not a sustainable model. But nope, every one of them makes dozens of duplicate threads filling up pages upon pages as soon as their account goes live.

      lol...I don't remember that.  Although recalling what I had for breakfast yesterday is sometimes a challenge.  Hope it was a positive thing.
