When can we blame Cam?

I can't disagree with y'all about Thomas and that play. He got beat.

BUT...

It was more than obvious there was supposed to be safety help over the top on that play. And where was it?

Late and worthless, of course.

Totally agree. Godfrey poo the bed on that one. But there is no excuse for getting burnt back to back on the same type of play.

Chuck and rational don't even belong in the same sentence.

He PM'd me out of the blue yesterday because I dared to post in a thread he made, so he proceeded to cuss me out and insult me dozens of times all while playing the victim. I like the guy, but he is borderline batshit crazy.

lol

Thomas help was in the middle of the field, where he was supposed to be, Thomas was supposed to play the WR towards the middle, which he didn't!

CG actually made up plenty of ground, but he wasn't out of position on that play.

This is EXACTLY the kind of poo teeray's excellent post from last Thursday night SKEWERED. So many people just either couldn't or refused to understand that teeray wasn't COMPARING Cam/Peyton. He was talking about this "oh, but he threw 4 or 5 bad passes OHMYZOD!!!!!!1!1!1!"

Of COURSE he had 4 or 5 poor passes in an entire game. Most NFL QBs (even the best of them) commonly DO.

(Though I disagree with you about the first pass to Olsen. Perfectly catchable. And if it was catchable, it should be caught. That's what receivers are paid to do.)

Well Ron was only upset about 2 passes so I guess I'm wrong there, although i think he's forgetting the Lafell ball. He does however agree that Cam threw a bad pass to Greg on the wheel route.

I missed the game.

Can anybody tell me how Cam did?

He played very well. No Ints, had a touch down and made many accurate difficult throws. What I didn't like was that the offense as whole was a little too conservative but I believe that will change next week. The loss can really be blamed on the deangelo fumble when we were going down the field and the punt return fumble that wiped an entire offensive drive away.

i have to disagree with his assessment on that wheel route. the ball hit Olsen squarely in the hands in stride and he flat out dropped it. the ball was catchable, and should have been caught. so many other WRs and TEs bail their QB out but the panthers.

"When can we start putting the blame on Cam for holding our offense back? Putting the blame on Cam rather than on the lack of Oline, WRs, running game, and play calling?"

-------------------------------------------------------

You can blame Cam when those other problems aren't problems anymore.

    • I wanted someone to hire him so we got the picks, but I'm also not upset that he'll now be back. I genuinely don't understand why so many fans on here dislike him so much.  No, he's not perfect and made some mistakes this year, especially at the end of the playoff game and going so soft in coverage on the final drive. But considering this place torched him all offseason for us having the "worst defense in NFL history" last year.  Said in the whole pre-draft process how we had to go defense in round 1 because of it and then complained the rest of the offseason that we didn't do enough to improve the defensive roster. How do people say all that about the defense and then complain when he turned that same unit into a pretty respectable defense this year.  They were really the only reason we were in a lot of games for most of the season, as the middle part of the season they really stepped up and were playing like one of the better defenses in the league. I don't see any reason we can't improve even more next year if we spend another offseason focusing on adding pieces on that side of the ball, which we should be able to do with our draft picks and cap space.
    • And they are perfect during the month of February! The fact they're 11th in the league now, but best in the league since Dec 6 tells you everything you need to know.
