AMC announced in a joint statement with Sony Pictures TV today that they are moving forward with “Breaking Bad” spinoff “Better Call Saul.” The network and studio have so far reached a licensing agreement for the hourlong drama.

New series will serve as a prequel to “Breaking Bad” and center on Saul Goodman, the attorney that eventually becomes Walter White’s lawyer. Bob Odenkirk, who plays Goodman on the parent series, will star in the spinoff, with Peter Gould spearheading the project.

Just a side note, but Saul is officially no longer safe these final 3 episodes since it's a prequel.

Always figured it would be a prequel, and I even mentioned in the BB thread I can see it ending with Walt/Jesse walking into his office for the finale. I'll watch, but I don't have the highest of hopes for it.

EXCLUSIVE:Jonathan Bankshas joined Bob Odenkirk inBetter Call Saul,AMC/Sony TV’s upcoming prequel to Emmy-winning Breaking Bad that centers on Odenkirk‘s unflappable criminal lawyer Saul Goodman. Banks will be a series regular on the show conceived by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan andBreaking Bad writer-producer Peter Gould. The prequel series, slated to debut on AMC in November, will chronicle the evolution of Saul before he ever became Walter White’s lawyer. The deal with Banks means that Saul will have his trusted private investigator/fixer Michael “Mike” Ehrmantraut by his side. Banks was a regular on Breaking Bad and played Ehrmantraut for 2.5 seasons after being  introduced in the drama series’ second-season finale.

This does not bode well for the Breaking Bad spin-off.
With Better Call Saul's production almost two weeks behind schedule, creator Vince Gilligan is already starting to express concern about the prequel series.
"I am worried ... it may turn out this was a mistake to do this," Gilligan admitted during The Hollywood Reporter's showrunner roundtable. "If it's After MASH rather than Frasier, it won't be for a lack of hard work, but you just don't know until the world takes it."

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
