cut him slack? what about people who ALSO have lost loved ones or are barely scrapping by YET buy insane amounts of stuff for this detached Cro Magnon who looks at his bank statements more than the fans responses.

who here gets the luxury of running to the govt to blackmail ask for funding and does?

im tired of sports owners who only source of income is a sports team because they end up running it just to pad their pockets with ZERO and I mean mofo ZERO concern about winning.

he will do his mediocre best JUST to produce enough earnings to keep his cronies happy.

im tired of this garbage. im tired of the lowered expectations. im tired of treating the stadium like it's some country Methodist church.

im tired of a bad product year after year.

"Damn you Red Lobster!!! You greedy bastards!!! $50 for a meal for two?!?! Don't you realize my mother died recently??? Show some compassion and give me a discount!!!"

People who are "barely scrapping by" shouldn't be wasting precious income on overpriced tickets and merchandise, regardless of whether the team is 0-16 or 16-0.

Should they falsely blame their poverty on him, too? Or just their idiotic spending habits?

Jacksonville still brings in a large profit annually.

Jacksonville was in the top half for attendance last season.

Jacksonville can't keep their shelves stocked with merchandise featuring their new logo.

Jacksonville could at any moment sign The Golden Calf of Bristol and sell an absurd amount of tickets and The Golden Calf of Bristol gear.

Apparently it's not wins and losses that matter. Go Panthers we are more profitable than _________ So you can keep your playoffs and support bowls.

Lets go margin. lets go profits. Lets go team merchandise sales. Lets go

hahahahhaahahahah. Jerry Richardson is quite possibly one of the bottom 5 worst owners in the league. This man is a clown and we will never see a Super Bowl under him. Ask Boomer Esiason what he thinks of Jerry Richardson.

This guys sat across from Peyton Manning and Drew Brees and spoke to them like they were morons. Him along with Woody Johnson (who everyone would agree is a complete joke) were leading the charge to keep replacement refs. Who were the owners who stepped up to end that? How about Rooney, Kraft, Mara, and Blank.

Jerry is the best owner in the NFL. He is a genius. He created PALs. He placed a franchise in a massive market full of loyal fans. He also knew transpants would fill his stadium once loyal fans got tired of the losing.

if only this were the equivalent of great ownership..

Of course he wants to win. I think he has made his first really good step in the right direction by getting a PROFESSIONAL at the GM position. I think everything else is going to fall into place in the next few years and things are going to get on track after we get out from under a few more of these god awful contracts. In the meantime we're going to have a rough time of it for at least two years. That's including this year. I'd say 2013, 14, 15 will be rough but by the time offseason before 2016 rolls around, we're going to be riding a wave again into a promising season. And this time it will be for real.

The thing that remains to be seen is if JR will let his new kickass GM do his job or if he will meddle in his affairs. I think the man should be left to do the job he was hired to do. But I don't own the team I just follow it. It's his team to meddle in all he wants whether I like it or not.

I think RR should be fired if we lose to the Giants. Would give us time to really do a deep search for our new coaching staff. I'd like Eric Washington and Jim Skipper to stay. The rest can hit the road as far as I care. I just hope to god he doesn't go super cheap on any of the coaching staff. Coaching is SO important to what comes out on the field every week as we all know.

I do agree that he is a good owner. I am not so sure he is good at selecting the right people to run things though.  I do think he made the right choice in Gettleman, but its going to take a while to be certain.

Fwiw, professional sports is an extremely tough business to be the best at.  It takes a combination of luck and skill and luck.  You have to find the right combination of players and coaches.  When you do, you win consistently for a relatively long period and even pick up a superbowl or two (see brady and belichek, Couglin and Manning, Brees and that guy).  Then you have 20 or so other teams that are up and down every year.
