4th and long.... and going for it?

Seriously? What was that?

It is easy field goal range for our K.

It was clearly not an attempt to achieve a first down

It took virtually no time off bc of change of possession

If Gano wasn't hurt.....I would have to believe this is some crazy Ron logic where he was showing mercy on NY and telling them he wasn't putting points up when he could in a blowout. If that is true.....well....I wouldn't think that was a good mindset....and that is as nice as I can state it

Let's spin this positively: Rivera made a statement to his players that they would go for it more often than not from here on. Since runs were chewing up the field on that drive, they went with a run.

Really, the agressive move was bombing it to Ginn while up as much as we were. After that, this was basically a preseason game.

    • and there are alot of bad qbs this year.  take out the atlanta games and his year has truly been bad.  no other panthers qb has ever had the mile long leash that byoung has gotten and i expect him to be the panthers starter for 2 more years and still just be the byoung he has proven to be over 3 years now.
    • Okay, looks like you've failed the quiz, so here's the answers 😄 Joe Montana and Steve Bono were the same style player with similar skill sets. One was just better than the other.  Brett Favre and Rex Grossman were also the same type of player. Again, one was demonstrably higher in ability than the other.  Hell, Tom Brady and Teddy Bridgewater were even the same style of player. One has numerous Super Bowl rings and the other is coacing a high school team. What's the difference? Ability 🙂 All of these examples show the distinction between style, skill set, and playing ability.  If you still can't understand that after this many examples and damn near remedial level explanations, not much more I could tell you. Heck, you probably don't even have to know football to understand what I'm saying. It's just basic analysis. But then, as the saying goes, I can explain it to you but I can't understand it for you 😄
