I think they'll play him a few downs just to get his feet wet. I suspect most of his serious work will come after they think he acclimates to real games in real stadiums, not the preseason dog and pony show that August ball too often resembles. But once he gets it together, I think he'll be a real nasty wrinkle for DCs to have to plan for.

I was super excited last year when we signed Tolbert, to run with double trouble, and Cam. Only to be let down by the playcalling...if Shula figures this out when alls healthy,with Kenjon as the cherry on top..OOOOOOOWEEEEE!..but we'll see.

The line is runblocking a hell of a lot better than it was in the preseason too.  Barner just might tear it up with as shifty and quick as he is.

 

He's suited for the read option to a tee as well... something we haven't had here with Cam.

Expectations were high and still is, but comparing him to D Will isn't an accurate comparision. D Will's been at it for a min and I like his fumble to carry percentage. But I do think that Barner will be a good back and possibly return guy, as long as he holds on to the ball.
