Cardinals quietly #2 in rush defense...#1 in yards per attempt.

It's early yet, but Arizona has been really good against the run this year. They are giving up only 75ypg on the ground with a league leading 3.0 ypc, albeit against fairly suspect competition. They have been somewhat suspect against the pass, giving up 266 yards per game.

Meanwhile the Panthers roll in with the league's 3rd best rushing attack...and the league's worst (32nd) passing attack...

Do the Panther's play it close to the vest or do they open it up???

It is interesting that only 3 teams have attempted fewer passes per game than the Panther's this season:

Seattle

San Francisco

Oakland

IMO, we have earned our ranking. Whereas the Cards have milked theirs. If we let Cam be Cam, and our running games works as it should, they are in for a long game.

Our running game, especially Cam's, sets up a lot of what we want to do. We have to be successful, and I think we will. They have not seen what we will be throwing at them. That D is decent, bur our O is better.

I just believe Shula and Cam gots this. And if they do...I can live with that.

The only reason we have the "worst" passing attack is because we have played 1 game less than almost everyone. Arizona knows first hand how explosive Cam and the Panthers air attack can be.

No, sorry, the numbers are based on Yards Per Game...not total production. the Panthers are averaging 170ypg passing, lowest in the NFL. It is not necessarily bad to be ranked low in passing yards if your running game is good and you have a superior defense. The Carolina brain-trust clearly has a vision for this team.

Damn...I didnt realize they were averaging only 170 ypg. That first game against Seattle really skewed the per game average, bc they have been over 200 in the other 2 games. Also Cam has 7 total TDs and only 2 picks. I agree with you though, I think they have a distinct vision for this offense, and it involved a heavy dose of rushing, efficient QB play, and the play action bomb.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
