How are you viewing/listening to tonight's game?

I have a little different philosophy.....I tend to only support people and establishments that are true fans of the Panthers (and the other Charlotte teams) before I give my money to corporations or relocated Yankees who are just broadcasting the Panthers' game with sound because there isn't a Steelers or Giants game on at the same time.

The owners of the Rudder don't ever miss a home game, pretty much only broadcast the Panthers for away games, and they're part of our trip to Miami in four weeks.  They're freakin' fanatics.  And those are the kinds of people and places I like watching games with.

Yes, I also concur with the philosophy of supporting local establishments. It's why my favorite place to buy clothes is Jesse Browns. And I certainly understand the frustration with bars playing Panthers games. It's why my preferred place to watch Panthers games is at my house. Free beer, and I don't have to worry about a disgruntled Jets/Giants/Steelers fan disrupting my viewing pleasure by offering unwanted "insight" on why the Panthers suck. Charlotte may be the only NFL city where you have to ask to put the home team on.

As I've stated, the Rudder is an awesome bar (especially during the summer!!!!) but I've attempted to watch games there before. Not a fan. Those little ass TVs in the usually overpacked bar inside ain't cuttin it. And it's gonna be like 40 degrees tonight so I'm not sitting outside. Also, I live in Huntersville bro and that's too far of a ride to be drinking and driving. Cornelius is DWI capital of the world.

Rudders food is pretty bad. But like I said it's an awesome place to get trashed and talk to girls.

My bad...wasn't trying to "sell" you on it. Just voicing why I show them love

No I agree w/ you. They are good people up there and a great place to hang out. Every time I have friends visiting or my GF's sisters come into town, the very first place we go to is the Rudder. I'm just not a huge fan of watching games up there. I love that they are all Panthers supporters like myself, it's just if I'm forced to leave my house to watch a game I can prob think of a hand full of places I'd rather go. But to be honest I'd rather stay at my house. It's why I'm a little irked about having to leave the house tonight because I don't want to.

    • Yeah, if you tune in for any of the remainder of the season you will get what you're asking for. Nobody but yourself to blame. This is a sports franchise of losers, for losers.
    • Here is my take, go ahead and roast me, I'm ok with it, I know where I am. I'm not ready to throw in the towel just yet. I will wait until week 4 or 5 before I entertain that option. This game I blame on the coaching staff. Their failure to give reps to the first team during the preseason was reflected in this game. Lets just call this what it is... our preseason warm up game. You could see that the whole team was flat in the first half. Every aspect of the game, the basic fundamentals. Mental errors, missed tackles, timing on routes, they were not ready for this game. Jacksonville is not a great team but you could clearly see their energy level surpassed ours. I do have to give credit to our defense. They did hang in there and kept competing through 4 quarters (minus the 71 yard run). The way our offense played it's a wonder Jacksonville didn't put 40 on us. Positives I saw, (I know, I know), but come on, we still have 16 games. TMAC IS that guy!! Chuba looked good, and overall, our O-line looked good. As bad as Bryce looked at times I do feel like we're a step or two away from connecting with our WR corps. There were plays to be made that were JUST off by a step or two (again, I know). We have talent at WR, we have talent on offense. To me, this game just looked like a team that was not mentally prepared for NFL week one, and less, "oh my god, we're the same old Panthers". Now I get it... a lot of this hinges on Bryce Young and his confidence. If he can erase this and focus on building continuity with these receivers I honestly think we're not going to suck as bad as we did today. XL... IDK, the jury with him is still out, but there is no doubt the kid has mega potential. Our defense, honestly, considering we have a bunch of new guys on that side, they held their own considering the offense could never change the momentum of the game. I am as disappointed as everyone else at another week one poor performance. But I also realize we are STILL rebuilding. Lets just take it week by week right now and see if we have ANY talent that rises to the surface. Because I really do not know what we have talent wise. And that is not just limited to the QB. So, we will see, but I'm not going to call it just yet... just my take. Now fire away! lol
    • Well for one, what other realistic choice is there? Barring a season ending injury, Bryce is the guy for this year. Next year all options are open, but there aren't any other real world solutions for the 2025 season.
