Teams starting "Mobile" Qbs have a 33-29 record this season.

Awesomeness!!

I had this discussion today who flat out refused to acknowledge that "Mobile" Qbs were successful in this league in this day and age. Anytime somebody mentions the fact that guys like RW, and Cam have put on good numbers all people can do is troll out Peyton Manning's name, as if guys like Christian Ponder or Carson Palmer don't exist. Anyway, for our little comparisons there is one rule.

1. The QB in question has to be considered "scramble ready". Andrew Luck for example is a mobile QB, as some would say he is a better running than RG3. In other words, the QB is a threat to run.

Pocket Passers

Vikings 1-4 (Not including the MNF game loss when Freeman started at QB)

Packers 4-2 (AR)

Bears 4-3 (Cutler)

Lions 4-3 (Stafford)

Saints 5-1 (Brees)

Falcons 2-4 (Blah)

Bucs 0-3 (Again, not including Freeman)

Rams 3-4 (Bradford)

Cards 3-4 (Palmer)

Cowboys 4-3 (Romo. You could argue Romo is mobile)

Giants 1-6 (Manning

Eagles 0-1 (Foles only start)

Pats 5-2 (Brady)

Fins 3-3 (Tan)

Bengals 5-2 (Ginger)

Ravens 3-4 (Flacco)

Browns 3-4 (Trash)

Steelers 2-4 (Won't take No for an answer)

Titans 3-4 (Trash)

Texans 2-4 (Trash)

Jags 0-7 (Ha)

Chiefs 7-0 (Alex Smith)

Broncos 6-1 (Manning)

Chargers 4-3 (Rivers)

Raiders 0-1 (The Flynn Start)

A total record of 71-76 (Feel free to check the Math. I'm sure I messed up somewhere along the lines.)

Mobile Qbs

Jets 4-3 (Geno)

Bills 3-4 (Thad Lewis and EJ)

Colts 5-2 (Luck)

Raiders 2-3 (TP)

Eagles 3-3 (Vick)

Redskins 2-4 (Bob)

Vikings 0-1 (Freeman)

Panthers 3-3 (Cam)

Bucs 0-3 (Freeman)

Seahawks 6-1 (RW)

49ers 5-2 (Cap)

33-29

What are we defining as a mobile QB? Tannehill is pretty damn athletic. So is jake locker.

Are there qualifications other than "I think he can run. So he's in."

Locker, Tannehill....heck even Alex Smith can all move pretty well.

    • well i could go on & on but i will just highlight it by saying big difference trust me from the SEC & NFL.it's honestly like comparing apples & oranges especially when you are talking about a  LT. in the NFL you are going up against the most athletic freaks of nature the world has to offer . .the NFL also has much more exotic & complicated defensive schemes than what they are used to seeing at Georgis &  finally but most importantly you have to learn how to master complex bio mechanics where the body kick steps instantly as a reaction to these world class athletes rush without really making a conscious effort it's more of a learned muscle memory  & it can take thousands upon thousands of reps to master rproper technique for a LT in the NFL especially if you are still very raw like Monroe Freeling is    ...just saying
    • All that being the case or maybe being the case, we do not know Wharton’s timetable n the first place. They are being coy about it. Or maybe not. They say week to week the board says he is terminal lol and must be replaced. Who knows? It may or may not warrant a fairly drastic solution.  Walker is a bargain and we are not well stocked at OL despite recent investments. Freeling has yet to have a single padded practice. Too much speculation driving this plan IMO.
    • I would really love to know who’s actually making these moves because it’s weirdly vague who’s doing the hiring and firing.
