J-stew impact on Sunday

Recommended Posts

90% of this thread is a diss on how injury prone stewart is. yet from 2008-2012...

stewart has played in 72 games

williams has played in 68 games

if stewart comes back sunday, williams will have only played 3 more games than him. in a nutshell, it's taken stewart being on the shelf nearly a season for williams to catch up and surpass the number of games stewart has played since 2008 when he came into the league.

now...what was this thread originally about?

2010 = 178

2012 = 93 (hurt at the end and all Chud did was throw the ball)

2013 = of course he hasn't played so that's dumb to add this year in there. We aren't disputing he's hurt now. Talking about previous season.

Now I'm not a numbers guy, but isn't 178 + 98 > 230?

Also...why didn't you count 2011 when he had 142? Or 2008 and 2009 when he had 184 and 221 respectively?

You said he's injury prone....I asked what other time has he missed. You didn't answer that question at all.

Stewart had 142 + 93 rushing attempts in 2011 and 2012 seasons respectively.

Zero attempts in 2013.

Sorry, I typed 2010 instead of 2011 in my original post.

450 plus rushimg attempts for DWill the same time frame being the last 2.5 seasons.

Stewart's current contract, which Getts can't get off the books fast enough.

8/11/2012: Signed a six-year, $37.811 million contract. The deal contains $22.5 million guaranteed, including a $9 million signing bonus. Another $6 million is available through incentives based on 1,200-yard rushing seasons and 1,600 all-purpose yard seasons. 2013: $715,000 (+ $2.5 million "signing" bonus), 2014: $1.5 million (+ $9 million option bonus), 2015: $4.25 million, 2016: $5 million, 2017: $5.5 million, 2018: Free Agent

Ridiculous  money for value received.

235 attempts in the Panther's last 39 games.

You think he's never really healthy or Rivera averages running Stewart 6 times per game the last 2.5 years because he's a stud work horse?

There's nothing to tell, it's right in front of you.

You're using attempts to justify your claim that Stew has been injured? That's ridiculous. Use a stat that makes sense...GAMES PLAYED.

People need to stop acting like Stewart isn't our best option moving forward.

Obviously health is a concern. But hopefully after clearing his ankles up with that arthroscopy along with months and months of rehab we will see a refreshed JSTEW with fresh start.

I don't see how he can be our best option this week.  He hasn't played in a game in almost a year.  By the end of the season and playoff time, I think he'll be the best option (if his ankles hold up).

Yeah this week you are right. Hopefully we won't even need him to make that big of an impact. I'd like to see Tolbert get a bigger workload if DWILL isn't 100%.

But Stewart is definitely going to need to come up big if we are gonna make a playoff run.

Our chances increase drastically against SF and NE if we can put up 100+ yds on the ground.

I really don't think he's gonna be that out of shape. Professional athletes don't just let themselves go just because they aren't able to play in games.

Honestly that contract isn't as bad as I thought. He's not going to hit those bonuses

DWill's contract is horrid bc hes 30 and is making a ton of money at the RB position

Stewarts contract isnt bad at all.  He is 26, wont get to those bonuses, and fits perfectly in this offense.

Uh, there's one small detail you guys are missing.

Go back and look at the contract's guaranteed money. Now figure how much he has received on that contract so far. The difference is money unpaid but still guaranteed. Hint...it's a big number.

Not to mention Stew's contract has more guaranteed money in it than DWill's.
