So WFNZ brings on Mike Belloti to talk about how Mariota is better than Cam?

WFNZ and Marc James actively try to get Cam negativity out of their guests because it instantly lights up the phone lines with pro and con callers. Marc in particular will always ask a leading question to try and draw a negative opinion out about Cam.

lol Marc James said we were going to draft Mike Glennon if cam didn't shape up last year. What a loser

I have no problem with the opinion that he thinks Mariota is better than Cam.  I disagree with him, but an opinion is an opinion.

I have a serious problem with this jack wagon YET AGAIN pulling out the bull poo Nolan Nawrocki level character assassinations about his work ethic and his intelligence.  Especially since his teammates and coaches at every level since Blinn Junior College in Texas say differently about him.

He also wasn't sure if Mariota is a better pure passer than Griffin, but had the nerve to say he would be better than Cam. Just goes to show he knows noting. Cause if he did, he would have said Mariota was a better pure passer than Griffin, who isn't one, on general principle. He would also know, Cam was a "football" runner in spades as well.

Oh well, who cares. So many blowhards looking for attention at Cam's expense it seems.

I was listening yesterday when this was brought up. What they fail to mention in the article is Belotti is a former Oregon head coach and athletic director.

They had Steve Smith on and replayed the interview. Steve was basically saying how dumb it is for a college guy to say this when Steve has been with Cam all through training camp, through practice etc.

In regards to the Oregon QB being better than Cam, Steve said "Boys play on Friday, young men play on Saturday, and men play in Sundays." Meaning you can't compare a college player to NFL players.

That's all I wanted to hear is that Smitty addressed it. I'm good now, Belotti can blow me.

you're lying to yourselves if you don't like Mariota... can't knock Mariota just because others think he can be better than cam

Um..don't think I'm lying to myself.

Don't like Mariota.

You can't knock me if I think he is only as good as the Oregon system.

That's because they don't give a fug about the truth and facts. They are the media and whatever they say goes. They seemed to all share the mindset that Cam is way to talented for his own good and he's not deserving of his success. They seem to believe that it's up to them to show him who is boss. Sadly, their behavior is not new. It just seems to be more tolerated than in the past. I wonder why?

Also, I am curious to know why this Belloti guyisn't comparing his sensation of a QB to Luck? is Luck so far removed from the other QBs that no one should be compard to him? Also why is he comparing this kid to all the black QBs and none of the white ones?

As far as I see, folks at ESPN on one hand, has spent the last couple of years painting Cam as some un-intelligent kid who relies on his natural talent to get by, but yet every new Johnny-Come-Lately of a QB is compared to him and not their next Chosen god of a QB. How strange is that? Clearly there seems to be some form of twisted psychology being played by these folks. I'm simply not biting.

What I also find amazing is how they can't stop marveling at Cam's talent and abilities but always manage to find a way to ish on the person. Jealousy is truly a bitch.

Admittedly I am a Duck fan (don't ask why, cuz I don't know) I've watched Marcus and he's good, but Cam is an NFL QB with NFL stats and a pro bowl under his belt. I don't know that Marcus can come in and do that kind of thing right away. I wish him much success but no.

This. Marc James will soon follow Jensen to the unemployment line.

Belloti is just jumping on the media train thats heading towards Cam.

Cam's name is so hot right now, he knows that if he says a college system QB is better than arguably the best young QB in the game, he's gonna get hits, hes gonna get press and its gonna continue to be brought up.

I'm sure if we get to the playoffs because of Cam's continual improvement, he'll be choking on our cacks again

    • The difference is about how much player input is allowed and encouraged in the decision making process. Top down teams tend to dictate to players how everything is handled. Disagreements are handled by the coach and players are expected to do what they are told regardless of what they think or feel.  Players are perceived as commodities to be used until we find better. In player led teams player input is encouraged and valued. Players and especially leaders are expected to settle their own disagreements and be accountable to the team but mostly to each other. Players are family to be appreciated and supported in their growth. Is the reality of football the same in both? Yeah there are limited positions, football is a business and winning is the bottom line. Coaches get final say and run the program because that is their job. But in player led teams they feel valued, appreciated, part of a larger whole. Most people who have worked at multiple jobs know exactly what I am talking about. When players try to run the show and don't value  coach input that isn't a player led team, that is a circus which we surely are familiar with in our past.
    • For our pics and trades tonight and tmrw.  Remember, Aho was a 2nd rounder and Slavin was a 4th rounder.
    • Seems to be the consensus from the talking heads. I really wish we had double dipped at center in the 2nd round. Sion will never play in the league.
