Game 6: Charlotte Bobcats vs. New York Knicks

Ugly game. We are better than that. We need AJ back pronto, and we need Coach back pronto.

Right now we have three starters that give us very little on offense in terms of scoring (although MKG has been playing pretty well the last couple of games :))

I was sitting about 6 rows behind the NY bench...fiancé got tickets through her job at Hanes.

Some notes:

-Bargini is the best player on the Knicks

-Melo had the quietest 20+ point game I've ever seen

-Kemba is a warrior, always giving 100%. Great player to build a team with.

-MKG played good D on Melo for the most part. Shot still way suspect, even if he did knock some down early. Also, he jumps on his free throws. I've literally never seen that.

-Hendo is athletic enough to always be able to create his own shot, but his shot isn't that great. He'll never be more than a 6th man on a good team.

-Big Al will be a huge upgrade. Offense is quite horrendous without him. Kemba is the only legit scoring threat IMO.

-Zeller should get more opportunities. I'd like to see him in some ISO sets. He never really got a chance tonight.

-Amare is awesome. He only played limited minutes, but he was a force when in the game and reminded me he was once a top 5 player.

-the lineup for the first 8 minutes of 2nd quarter was mind boggling. I don't think Kemba or Henderson were in until the 4 minute mark. Not sure wth we were thinking.

-Clinton Portis was sitting behind Knicks bench. He hugged Melo as they walked through the tunnel post game, and some teen grabbed the towel off Melo's back. Melo was pissed and his security guy almost decked the kid. The kid was escorted off by security.

-lots and lots of Knicks fans. I felt good wearing my Panther tshirt. Not one person talked poo, they remember the Giants game.

I think Kemba is still hurt but with Jefferson already out he is just trying to be a leader. I know we started well last year but even without big Al this team looks like they are gelling with each other. If we end up with 3 picks this draft we will end up being a team to watch in the east.

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
