PG as #1 option = Mediocre Team

I think Kemba CAN be the main option, but we need to upgrade our SG and PF spots first (hopefully Zeller will become the upgrade at PF). At UConn during the championship run, Kemba was the man but he had Jeremy Lamb as a second option. Right now (with Al out), our second option is Gerald Henderson. Hendo is NOT the guy you want as your second option. When Al gets back, that could help Kemba.

But like Manos said, the thing that will help him the most is a really good SG, specifically someone who can stretch the floor. I'm keeping my eyes on Wayne Selden, Dante Exum, Marcus Smart (maybe he can have an Oladipo-type turnaround with his 3), James Young, and even Wiggins.

IMHO, i feel Jabari is the best fit for us

I'm obviously in the minority, but I feel Wiggins is over-hyped at this point. He's athletic as hell and still a great player, but Jabari has a better all-around game at this point IMO. I really feel he has the potential to be a Carmelo type guy, without some of the circus around him.

i hate when people compare jabari to carmelo. he isnt a ball hog and can play team ball alot better. carmelo isnt a championship caliber player. jabari is more like paul pierce if anything

Comparing a player to another player's style/ceiling doesn't usually include the negatives. Figured it went without saying there's an obvious difference in Jabari and Melo for the negatives the latter brings.

which makes him more similar to paul pierce than melo. its simple just a better comparison

I've always said that his best comparison is Pierce and/or Melo. He's got the intangibles of Pierce, but I feel like his combination of scoring arsenal, rebounding, strength, and post play will more so mirror Melo than Pierce. Parker will be able to play the 4 in a system similar to what the Knicks run. Either one is a great comparison though, and he really seems like the best of both players. However that maybe putting a bit too much on him, because Pierce, while never being in that elite tier of players, he was definitely an All-Star level player; Melo on the other-hand is one of the better scorers we've seen.

WANT, WANT, WANT JABARI PARKER!!!!!

Parker is showing that he's is right there with Wiggins and have actually been outplaying Wiggins so far in their short college careers. I really thought that Parker was going to struggle a bit playing in Duke, but he's clearly overtaking that team by storm.

Julius Randle may actually have outplayed both these guys so far, but we're packed at the PF position already. We have to find a way to get our hands on Andrew Wiggins or JABARI PARKER.

I think that as of "needs", Wiggins would make more sense in that he would fill the SG position for us. But, Parker seem like he would fit our team much better. The question is what are we going to do with the lineup (Parker, MKG, Big Al, McRob, Zeller, Biyombo)? I think that Parker may be able to play SG, but I'm not sure if thats where he'll be best utilize at. MKG needs to stay at SF bc he's much better inside the paint. Big Al and Zeller will need to be starters next year, because we didnt pay a bunch of money or spend a no4 overall pick on those guys to have one of the two sitting on his ass.

IF Charlotte lands Wiggins/Parker/Randle/Exum/Smart...the team then gets built around them. MKG/Zeller/Kemba be damned.

Just an example, but the Blazers passed on Jordan because they had Drexler. Jordan won't make the same mistake if he thinks there's a player to be taken that is an upgrade over our current starter in that same position. Trades can be made to rectify a situation in that case.

We won't be passing on Parker for instance, simply because we have MKG at the 3 and Zeller at the 4. Somebody will get traded or be coming off the bench in that case.

Exactly. Right now, everyone other than Big Al on this team is a role player. MKG may be the only piece with value to trade but he's improving and is worth keeping.

Parker def makes a ton of sense bc he will probably be a NBA PF. But that means we'll be stacked at that position. Now I'm wondering if the Zeller pick even make sense now if we were able to land a Parker or Randle. Probably should have gone McLemore. Unless Parker can fill the SG spot, I'm confused right now how CHO/MJ are building this team.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
