Dear 49ers Fans...

Been here all week guys.

That was rough. Panthers played great....but losing Vernon Davis, Eric Reid, and Ray McDonald didn't help.

I knew the 49ers probably wouldn't score another point when Vernon walked off the field. He is their only real threat. As soon as he was gone all the Panthers had to do was double Boldin and it's pretty much over.

Great pass rush by Carolina. Kap under pressure all day. Nobody getting open. Looked like the Colts game. When Vernon goes down....their passing game is toast. What do the 3 49er losses all have in common? Vernon hurt during the game or didn't play at all due to injury.

I don't want to make excuses so sorry if this comes off as that. Carolina played fantastic on D. I don't want to take anything away from that...but Vernon getting hurt was HUGE. Astronomical.

Gratz on the win. I think you'll end up taking the division.

If losing one player other than your starting QB is that big of a loss for your team, then your team isn't very good. Your biggest issue is that your quarterback is still very limited in his progressions. Cam found a lot of second and third receivers.

LOL.

If he was replacing the best player on the team and the only good O-Lineman on the team, that argument might be valid. LOL.

Niners are a base 2 TE team and lost 2 of only 3 TEs on the roster in the first half. They had offensive linemen playing TE.

Not trying to lessen the loss...it was a huge win for the Panthers, but the Panthers were able to expose the 49ers biggest weakness...a lack of quality targets in the passing game.

I smell a whiney little bitch.....I knew Marvin was back.

I went to detroit in 2009 to watch the tar heels win the national championship--- and the satisfaction of being at a game comes no where close to the satisfaction of watching all those niner fans walking out of that sh1thole of a stadium they call candlestick. Cockiest, douchiest fanbase ive ever been around and its not even close. Ive gotten nothing but poo ever since i got off the plane in san fran and now all those bums are quiet as a mouse. I love it

Bingo...If one wante4d to play the injury excuse i feel we would come out ahead especially on the offensive line.

Jeez.

Wow. Do you guys honestly believe that losing Vernon Davis had no effect on the game? Jeez. Saying that doesn't mean Niner fans are just making excuses. It doesn't matter who the 49e4rs lost, it is on them to make up for it.

Not sure why its so offensive to say losing Vernon was a factor in the game. If you had lost and had lost Steve Smith or Luke Kuechly...would that have been a factor? Come on now. Lets be real.

Panthers may have won this game regardless, but saying losing Vernon was a factor isn't just an excuse. Its truth.

Truth. Thanks for being classy. Good luck the rest of the year.

Dude. I've been saying this all freakin week. The niner biggest weakness is a lack of quality pass catchers. No Crab and no Manningham till today.

Niners run 2 TE sets all day long and they were down to a single TE in the game. All the Panthers had to do was double Boldin and the Niners were helpless. Its been their problem all year.

Its not a coincidence that Vernon has been out of the game when things got ugly this year. They are WEAK at those positions. It IS a 49er weakness and the Panthers exploited it. Good for them.

But y'all were supposed to beat us handily - per EVERY "expert" out there. Excuses are like assholes. You guys only scored 9 when VD was in there. Whatevs bro, it's now officially Patriot week at my house. I'm sure Niner fans will go back into hebirnation like y'all have been the last 10 years. Good luck in New Orleans. I sure hope you guys play better down there.

Why dont you just accept that your QB is garbage and that your team with such a reputation for physicallity and toughness got out-fought?

Hey, get the fug out of here.

Your team is overrated and heading back to the cellar.

Hop on the panthers wagon and change your username.

I know you're down a lot of receivers, but your quarterback is making a bad problem much worse by his inability to make his reads quickly. Look at Cam's group of receivers and ask yourself how he kept making critical conversions.

I don't give 2 sh*ts about the experts. I've been here all week and have been saying that it'll be a close game. I said I thought they'd be able to run. I said Boldin and Vernon were the only viable targets and was a big reason why they were ranked last in Passing.

I also said what happened vs the Colts was that Vernon didn't play all day and the Colts simply doubled Boldin.

Guess what...Vernon got hurt. Boldin was taken away as the now only target. The result was predictable.

The 49ers were never unbeatable. They have had a huge issue at WR all season.

The Panther came in and played very, very well. Kudos to them. They deserve the win. Saying that losing the only viable target the 49ers had in the pass game isn't an excuse. Its true. The Niners were simply unable to overcome that loss and the way the Panthers played on D was a HUGE, HUGE factor.

    • More so than the stats it was against that killer defense in their own stadium, the same defense that made Mahomes look like a total JAG in the SB. The way Bryce handled adversity all game was simply phenomenal , the off script play in the end zone, scrambling out of a sack/safety to find XL deep was one of the best plays we have seen out of a Panthers QB on what should have been a game winning drive
    • He’s about to be 0-12 in the conference finals and we’ve been outscored 16-4 in this series after only losing 2 games the previous two rounds and looking really in control of the series. There’s major red flags here as to why he seems so overmatched once he gets to a certain level. There comes a point where “just getting there” isn’t good enough. We are at that point.
    • Listening to the post-game, and holy poo! Has Rod ever said, "this one's on me." When asked about composure, he threw Staal and Martinook under the bus. "Those 2 can't be your best players." Disregarding that he didnt answer the question, does he realize how that sounds to professional athletes? When asked how you prepare for game 4, "I'm not even thinking about that." Clearly, Rod.
