Beason Stills Seems Miffed

Implies that Hurney wouldn't have traded him, and makes it sound like Rivera surprised him with the trade. Speaks highly of Jerry Richardson, and talks about his regrets of not winning consistently.

I understand that Beason is an extremely proud player, but unless that conversation between him and Rivera never happened then he had no reason to be surprised by the trade. And he wasn't going to see the field at MLB while Kuechly was healthy, so. . .

Yea who does gettleman think he is running this franchise like it's a football team and not some rehabilitation sanctuary for players where IRed guys can rest assured they will be comfortably overpaid as long as Hurney picked them himself and they had like one breakout year at least or something

I really don't know how to take this because of all the things that where said after he left and the comment on how he would like to finish his career as a giant. I think he see's how this team has finally turned a corner and knows he could have been apart of it and truthfully I wish he could have but there was no way we were going to take Luke from the middle and there was now way we were going to pay him MLB money to play WLB.

    • I think the player matters a lot(in regards to price specifically). Parsons will likely end up being worth the price because he is unquestionably elite. Burns obviously hasn't been until this year because he isn't a consistently elite pass rusher. He is too easy to shut down with just a single blocker.  Guys like Parsons and Garrett that you have to plan your entire blocking scheme around make everyone on the defense better. Truth be told, that isn't Burns on his current line, it's Dexter Lawrence. But, as you pointed out, situations still matter. Joe Burrow may be a truly elite QB but that doesn't matter a lot when he can't stay healthy or the overall team isn't good. Ask Matt Stafford about that in Detroit.   The Panthers aren't in a position to be liquidating the extremely valuable draft picks we have. Our roster is still a bottom 5 overall NFL roster.
    • I don't hate KK. The Canes overpaid and he's enjoying the benefits.  Anyone who assumed he was going to turn into an excellent player based on what the Canes paid him weren't paying attention. Sure, I wish he was much more physical, he's a big guy, and that's really all I was hoping for when he came to Carolina. Danault is better in the FO circle, better defensively and better down the middle, but it's a moot point now.
