Brady

Passing Attempts             340

Completions                    194

Completion percentage   57.1%.

Passing Yards                  2256

Passing TD'S                   13

Interceptions                     6

Sacks                                26

QB Rating                         82.7

Newton

Passing Attempts             271

Completions                    170

Completion percentage   62.7%

Passing Yards                 1970

Passing TD'S                   13

Interceptions                    8

Sacks                               25

QB Rating                         88.3

So just in terms of passing Cam leads in Passing yards per attempt ,Completion %, and is averaging a TD pass every 20.8 attempts, where as its taking Brady 26.1 attempts per TD pass. Brady has only done a better job at protecting the ball with 2 less Interceptions.

Then when looking at accuracy % when under pressure (a PFF signature stat that discards WR drops) Cam is ranked 3rd out 31 QB's(50% of snaps played qualifier) at 71.4% and Brady is ranked 27th 56.5% accuracy percentage when under pressure.

One PFF signature stat I was surprised to see is Brady has a 43.2% deep pass accuracy percentage vs Cam's career low of 27.2%. (Remember this does not hold drops against the QB).

I have not really been able to watch as many non panther games as years past nor have I kept up with the stats like I normally do so I was surprised to see Cam outplaying Brady as a passer this year (granted he hasn't had the arsenal he's used to in years past).

It is amazing looking at the stats for Brady this year.  If you watch him play you will see that he has fallen off a little bit, it's quite clear actually.  But, he's Tom Brady.  He's went from being a Bugatti Veyron to Porsche 911.  He is still amazing, he will still crush you with 3 or 4 perfect throws in the last 20 seconds of a game.  The Carolina/Buffalo game, the ending, where the Bills drove the field - I hate to bring it up, but that's what Brady has done to us and the rest of the AFCE for years.  We'll be beating them, then we will beat ourselves and give them the game and/or Brady comes in with the guns on his hip and fires away and you're done.  No chance.  It sucks being a Bills fan when you get your ass handed to you by Brady.

Anyway, re the stats.

Brady's yardage comes from YAC.  He gets the ball to downfield targets that will move the ball effectively once it is caught.  It is what moves the chains.  His 7 yard pass will go for 15.  His 3 yard quick screen will go for 8.  His 12 yard post will go for 25.  (which is why the Carolina DB's need to play smart, stay disciplined, stay in their zone, on their man, etc.)

Brady gets TD's by moving the ball to every target.  He doesn't focus in on just one player, he just finds the best player in position to make the catch.  Especially in the red zone.  Gronk is the target because he is such a mismatch.  You can't cover him with an LB - too slow.  You can't cover him with a CB - too small.  You can't cover him with a safety - too slow.

I agree these are some interesting numbers, but where's the stat for number of different starting receivers, tight ends, and running backs?

I love me some Cam, but Brady > Cam. Maybe one day Cam will be better, but here's not there yet.

You know how confident I am in our defense?

I'm starting Jason Campbell over Brady in 2 different fantasy leagues that were 50$ buy-ins and I'm on the playoff bubble for both.

Our front 7 is gonna be all over his ass. The team is gonna be hyped and playing with emotion Monday night!  #backinblack

If AJ Klein plays Monday all the Panthers line backers will be as fast or faster than gronk.

A QB like Brady you throw stats out of the window.. the same rule for me could apply to only three other athletes ever and that is Joe Montana, Michael Jordan, Jerry Rice.  2013 Brady vs Cam is kind of a disrespect to not only the game of football and Tom Brady but too all quarterbacks in the Hall of Fame that have had a slow start due to their ENTIRE offense taken away from then in ONE offseason that included star names like Aaron Hernandez, Rob Gronkowski, Wes Welker, Danny Woodhead and Brandon Lloyd.  I promise no other quarterback not even Peyton Manning himself could survive that and turn it into gold like Tom has.  Carolina will be in for the fight of their lives Monday Night.

So if Adrian Peterson had a slow start, and numbers were a little rusty but say.. Giovani Benard's numbers were stellar so now what? all of a sudden Giovani Benard is a better running back then Adrian Peterson?  That's kind of what this ridiculous thread is saying and its stupid lol smh

It's a love/hate thing. Brady can get smothered by dominant front 7's, but he's oh so good at taking advantage of over-agressive defenses.

To me, it sounds like he'll be able to get the panthers d to over-react in different situations, ways that will lead to multiple big plays.

Don't get me wrong - he'll get pummeled a few times, but the end result will be worth it.

ps: sorry about your ff loss.

We're over halfway through the season, and these numbers don't lie.  Patriots are 7-2, and no one is insinuating that Brady is inferior to Cam (well, maybe some are).  Still though, this is in a vacuum of 2013.

Ridiculous?  Stupid?  And you babble something in another post about how not even the second coming of Jesus could do what Brady has done with this year's team and the loss of talent.  No one is crying for the Pats, everyone deals with turnover, injuries, etc.

Get over the excuses - the numbers are what they are, deal with it.

You certainly  make a valid point but the good part is that Panther fans still have a lot to look forward to pertaining to Cam's upside. He has athletic ability to spare, and history indicates that quarterbacks are a little bit like musicians — they never stop evolving until they either stop caring or just can’t physically do it any longer.
