The Refs don't protect guys like Cam

If it was brady or brees that was hit the way cam was yesterday..he would have been ejected from the game.

They can make that B.S call on the 49ers player hit on brees but you couldnt call an helmet to helmet hit on cam.

Only the mannings, bradys, brees and rodgers are given full protectiong.

I will say the helment to helment should have been called and those guys get that call most of the time, however Cam got a big time qb call when they called the push out of bounds thats a call big time qbs get every single time and thats the first time i can remember him getting one like that.

They don't protect jay cutler or stafford either really. Brees, brady, manning, rodgers, are the top 5 qbs of the league. They will get top billing protection always. Basically what I'm saying is if you're not a top 5 qb don't expect the refs to blow the whistle.

Cam is only in his third year and is probably the main reason he doesn't get the respect of the older Super Bowl wiinning QB's. I feel it's just a matter of time before the refs start giving him due respect as  the wins continue mounting.

I often wonder if Cams large size ( as opposed to QB's like Drew  Brees) doesn't work against him on getting some close roughing the passer type calls.

That too, bigger players playing the qb position probably don't get the benefit of the doubt.

I don't think so...I have notice it too with guys like vick and rg3,,The league have said they will protect the qb more...but seems they don't care about dual threat qbs.

Be careful what you wish for.. When a pile of defenders get to a Manning, they blow the play dead. We all know Cam can break lose of 3 or 4 guys and run for 20 yards. You want the same still of reffing for Cam, that may actually limit his potential.

    • i presented this in another thread. he throws better to the out breaking routes the wr run, but almost nothing to the inside. that is half the options on a wr route tree. How do you run an offense like that?  even the outbreaking routes he throws are moonballs, that allow the DBs to catch up unless the wr is wide open. he has to throw with a lot of anticipation becuase he doesnt have the arm strenght to get it there if he is a little late. thats probably why you see balls behind the wrs.
