Falcons become 1st team mathematically eliminated from playoffs

Poor Gonzo.  I hate the Falcons, but I respect the hell out of that guy.  If the Falcons were decent, they would've done him a solid and shipped him back to KC to allow him to play for a contender and to finish his career for the team that he'll go into Canton as a HOFer for.  They convinced the guy to put off retirement to make one more run, then they denied him the ability to make that run.  Douchebags.  Gonzo is just too good of a guy to do it, but he honestly probably should've just raised hell and forced the Falcons hand on that one.

i always want to punch people in the face when they say they called something earlier on in the season or whatever but seriously i called the falcons to lose the division and plummet to the bottom of the league

Ugh.  I hate when people post on a message board like it's twitter.  It's gross.

    • Assuming Mann is back I’d go ahead and move Green and the first rounder from PHX for a starting center. I prefer Okogie to Green anyway.
    • Been here since the Coliseum days. Hornets were the first pro team I ever rooted for. If they're ever going to get out of the gutter they have to establish a culture. They are trying to do that. I have no idea if it will be successful but it's a start.
    • I don’t think I'd go that far but there is definitely legitimate reason to ask how much he actually values winning and being great as a basketball player. He is very easily distracted with off the court stuff. This has been a public criticism of people like LeBron James with some of the newer generations of "stars". And it is 1000% valid and needed to be said. All I can say is I hope this is the year. If it is it will be apparent fairly early on. But I get the sense if the same themes continue as the upcoming season progresses the FO could look to move him before the trade deadline. It would suck for a multitude of reasons and I don't want to see it happen but if it did it would be on LaMelo and LaMelo alone because they've given him the keys and are finally putting pieces around him. If he wants to be a great basketball player and win he will be here and do what is necessary for the team to be successful. If not well....
