Week 12 Power Ranking Round Up

Walt takes his usual shots at Cam while boosting the team to 4th.

Carolina Panthers (8-3) - Previously: #4 - How much film study did Cam Newton do for the Miami game? A few hours? One hour? Fifteen minutes? None? He didn't look like he knew what was going on in that game. In fact, I'd be surprised if he actually knew who the Dolphins' quarterback was. Still, that would be better than Ryan Tannehill, who wasn't even aware Miami played in the AFC East.

Newton's ability to lead his team on a game-winning drive was pretty amazing considering how unprepared Carolina was as a whole. Still, it makes me worried for the playoffs. If Carolina is favored as the No. 5 seed over the lowly NFC East winner, will Newton and his squad be equally lethargic?

4. Carolina Panthers (8-3, LW: 4)
Sunday's win won't get the credit it deserves. They somehow pulled off a road win against a solid Dolphins team in an obvious letdown spot. That showed toughness, which will pay off down the road.

Walter Football is basically the scum of the earth when it comes to football sites. Dude tweeted an article about how the death of his "son" would affect Adrian Peterson's fantasy performance a couple of hours after the story broke.

He also has an unhealthy hate for the Panthers and Cam Newton especially.

Someone needs to pull and Aldon Smith and kick Walter in the nuts.  Guy is a hack and a clown.

    • Except it wouldn't be Rodgers leading them on a postseason run, it would be the defense and he's there to not screw up their great games. Which is why..... This times a million. I didn't watch a ton of the Jets last year, but from what I did see, Rodgers himself didn't look like a bum, the team just struggled and was more than likely due to poor coaching on the whole.  The Steelers don't need MVP level Rodgers to win games, they just need him to be good enough to make some plays when it matters because the defense is keeping them in games every week regardless. In their 7 losses last season, the Steelers scored 10, 13, 17, 17, 17, 19, and 24... while giving up 19, 20, 24, 27, 27, 29, and 34 in those games.  With only marginally better offense last year, they probably end up winning a few more games too. They only scored over 27 points in 3 games last season. I think this is a great move by the Steelers and if Rodgers can stay healthy all year, will get them back into the playoffs and could make some noise if their defense is up to the normal level of a Steelers defense.
    • I hope we are as improved as a lot of fans are hoping. However, this time of year everyone in the league thinks they have improved. It will be interesting.
    • How many new starters will we have on defense?  That could be a good thing given how bad the D was last year, but it could also take some time for them to gel.
