What Saints Fans are Saying

alejandro can you explain how your team got beaten so badly?

Same thing as Panthers losing 22-6 to the Cardinals, the same team that Saints defense held to 7 points after giving up a TD on first drive and not even allowing a first down after till towards end of 4th qtr. Obviously the team had a bad game, then got into a 17-0 hole which turned them one dimensional trying to play catchup which made it easier to defend. Bottom line, the team played bad in all phases and looked flat. The deep throws were all broken up in great secondary play and the defense was bad in first half not being disciplined in their lanes and kept overrunning plays leaving openings for Wilson to run out, something I doubt they do two weeks in a row.

They did a good job on shutting down Lynch and even forced a fumble, but luck was also on Hawks side. Saints dropped an int and didn't recover a forced fumble when it was still a 10 point game that could have made a big difference, also the ball gets knocked out of Brees hand and falls into hands of defender for easy pick 6 or they get a 3rd down by goaline and ball get deflected into other receivers hands for TD. Even a pass Saints batted up into air for like 5 seconds came down around nobody, the hawks deflected balls are in air for fraction of second and go directly to hawks players both times, bad luck, but not the reason we lost.

Bottom line, I wasn't sure we were going to win but thought that if we did lose there would be little chance we lose at home to Panthers in much more important game.

I think you give this board too much credit. That game was a huge nationally televised game that caused your website to crash last night. I think it is totally "legit" to think that you have an unusual amount of bandwagon type guests today.

The website never crashed and was never down for even a second, go read the game day thread and you will see a post every minute, because of the teams popularity the server would get overloaded with thousands of guests so they changed it to limit guest log one when traffic gets really high so members can continue to use the board.

For me the hardest thing to prepare for when playing the Saints is the increased speed on the turf. One of the reasons they lose on grass is that their team is built for speed particularly after the catch. We have to match that speed and stop the YAC. That is really what Seattle did last night. Force Brees to go to the underneath guy and stop them from converting first downs. On offense Wilson avoided the blitzes and was able to burn them when they went to man coverage by throwing over the top.

SMcD will have the coverage schemes nullify the deep threat of Stills and Graham... Our coaches knew going into this season that New Orleans was the team to beat in the division. Our defense will be eager and ready.. We will even have Spider 2 Y Banana covered to perfection.

I tried to actually sign up for membership to contribute to conversation over there..... but apparently it takes DAYS to be authorized to post...

Only if you have an out of state IP, they don't allow any trolling and are really strict, I even got banned from my original account for "thinly veiled profanity" when using the word "@ss". I argued with mod that the word wasn't even considered profanity under new FCC broadcasting guidelines and was told they are not the FCC and banned my 3 year old account.

Wow, they even ban their own loyal fans over there for that small stuff? Are kindergarteners reading those forums before nap time in Louisiana or something?

I knew they were going to lose when they copied Brett Favre and got custom made ear plugs for the offense! When Lisa Salters reported that, I knew it was over for the Aints! Custom made ear plugs? GTFOH. How did that work out?

I checked the Saints forum and was real impressed with their fanbase. Seems 50% of them can read, yet only half of those 50% understand what  they read..

What really blew me away was  discovering  the same 50% of Saints fans could  spell words like ( Cat,Dog,,Go,Up,To,Be,The,And), all two or three letter words but struggled when they had to write words with four or more letters. Yes,those  (Who Dat)  Saints fans certainly are a smart bunch,.

It was more about me arguing with mods which many are pretty high strung, they consider the board a family friendly board and want everything PG at worst, they also intend it for only Saints fans and rarely tolerate a rival fan posting, even if they are not trolling, they did make a smack section like 2 years ago where you can say whatever, but rarely anybody posts over there, cit kinda where the non PF threads get put to die. Personally I enjoy the back and forth so I wouldn't mind rival fans, but it a privately funded board and has many members paying VIP fees to help finance board so they can do what they want. That said, it is the best place on web to find out anything Saints related. If they approve your membership, I would suggest you pretend to be a Saints fan in your profile or else it could be a very short visit.

I think the majority of the 456 guests are Seahawks and Panthers fans browsing through the threads and laughing at the collective crying and delusion of your idiotic fanbase after you guys got spanked.

I for one am highly enjoying the massive meltdown you double digit IQ swamp people are having over there.

yes i agree, i saw at one point there were 28 guests on this thread, NOT THE ENTIRE BOARD FAT, as this thread is linked on SR.

    • Um, no, just no. Bills, Chiefs, Chargers, Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Eagles, Commanders are 8 teams that it's not even a debate, they aren't trading their QB for Purdy. Patriots, Broncos, Titans, Giants, Bears, Vikings, Falcons are 7 more teams with QBs drafted in the last 2 years that also would rather stick with them than trade for Purdy as they all have more upside than he does. Lions, Packers, Cowboys, Bucs are 4 more that would likely keep their QB's as well, age aside for Goff, Dak, and Baker. Panthers and Colts are two teams in the same situation, QB's who have both struggled and shown flashes to where the teams probably stick with them because they drafted them, but in a re-draft of all QB's, they probably take Purdy over the guy they currently have. Jags, Cardinals, Dolphins, are 3 more with QB's who probably have a higher upside than Purdy but come with their own question marks, so debatable if they'd take Purdy over who they already have. That leaves Jets, Raiders, Steelers, Browns, Saints, Seahawks, and Rams. Rams would take him over Stafford for the future of course, but not for 2025, and I'd think the Seahawks would take him over Darnold, but honestly not sure if they would take him over Milroe at this moment as they really like his potential and have him for 4 years really cheap. That leaves 5 teams that I see who would absolutely take him over their current situation right now, and a handful of others who MIGHT take him over their current guy, a far cry from your 20.
    • Agreed. Also as soon as they received the top pick in the next draft it was over. Bears won that trade. Gave up a top overall pick got one the next year plus pick 9, a couple 2nds, and DJ Moore a proven young WR. Had their 2024 pick from us be in the late teens or later it would be more debatable IMO.
    • Option A:  Pay your starting QB starting QB money. Option B:  Look for a starting QB for 4-10 years (or longer) while wasting the talent at every other position.    How many of the top 20 QB's do you think are worth what they are being paid?   When you factor in the last year of his present deal his contract is really an average of 45 million per year which in today's QB market is a very, very good deal. I wish we'd had found a Brock Purdy to pay 50+ million a year right after we parted ways with Cam.  Ya'll go ahead and live in fairy tale land where good to great (much less elite) QB's are available to pay. Just the fact that they had the chance to pay Brock after the disaster of trading up for Lance is a testament that when you find a quarter back you can win with, complete in the playoffs and superbowls with, you pay him.
