Offseason price tags...

This guy who did this list didn't look at the contracts very good. Because I don't understand why Olsen is on this list. The guy just signed a 5 year deal 2 years again. Olsen has 3 more years left after this year. So this guy better look harder or get some glasses one.

I see Hardy becoming a Raider if we do not tag him. They will be 70 million under the cap next season n will pilliage for talent.

LOL Don't count on it. Even if the Raiders do offer him that much. I don't see him taking it. I'm sure he doesn't want to go to a team that is not going any where any time soon. I sure he will take less go else where to a team who has a chance as a SB ring. But on the other hand don't expect Hardy to go any where this year any way. 2 things will happen this off season. Either the guy takes the contract DG offers him or he DG will tag him and he will sign it and play or hold out. That or DG puts a steep price tag on him. Like a 1st round pick for any team that wants bad enough. Trust me when I say DG will not let Hardy walk when he can tag him or get a 1st round pick off of him from a team really wanting him. Bottom line Hardy will not walk for free. It will not happen.

I think the best way to evaluate what a person might get contract wise is to look at what other players at the same position have gotten.

Brian Robinson, DE for the Vikings per Rotoworld, 3 year 14 mil with 6.5 signing bonus.  He has 7 sacks this year and 8 the seasons before.

Hardy is a couple years younger and has the potential to be much better, but has only this year and last where he looked great.  I think

Gettleman has proven that he will only sign players at HIS price, there is a good chance Hardy leaves to a desperate team (Falcons) willing to

pay a premium.

With all due respect, if you think we stand any chance of signing Hardy (one of the league's best all around DE's) for less than 5 million per year, you are living in a dream world.

Someone is going to pay Hardy somewhere above 9 million per year easily.

Man, I would hate to see him go but Hardy would fit right in with the Raiders.

He would most definitely be a fan favorite there.

You can't even come up with an answer. He's top 50 in the major categories you act like he's Keary Colbert. You can't find someone better than Lafell on the streets.

You guys act like he's a monster....he's 6'2".

Lafell is number 62nd in receiving yards. He is 59th in YAC, 32nd in TDs, 137th in average, 54th in targets and 61st in receptions (keep in mind I am taking all of ESPN's metrics into account even when there is a tie).

He's not a monster, but neither is he a beast. He is pretty much a guy that is nice to have, but not necessarily a guy that you have to have. After going on four years, I would have thought that he'd be producing more than he has, and I don't think that his production is as hard to replace as you're trying to make it sound, especially when you consider that he totally disappears in some games.  The stats don't even tall the whole story. I suspect that Tavarres King may be able to produce the same type of production even now if given the opportunity, but suffice it to say that someone can. It would be nice if LaFell would be leading guys like Marlon brown or harry Douglas in all categories, hands down, but he isn't. The "problem" with LaFell when compared to a guy like Marlon Brown is that I think that we've seen his upside, and is not getting any higher. At least with some of the others, we can at least fool ourselves that their ceiling is higher, and in fact their ceiling may just be higher. But I am not going to nitpick, just realize that LaFell is what he is: not great, but perhaps adequate if you're between a rock and a hard place.

I certainly don't believe that LaFell has earned a contract that even stresses the bank, much less break it, for guys on his same level.

I think people over value Hardy on this board.  He is a solid 8-10 sack guy, but he would not be nearly as good

without Johnson across from him.  I think around 6 mil a year is realistic, and more than that would be overpaying.

I, for one, have no desire to see us overpay for players ever again.

Carlos Dunlap on the Cincinnati got 6 yrs 40 mil earlier this year, that would be around what I would pay.

    • Reasonable. I mean I didn’t see a clear path to relief this season myself. As I have typed already, I think the QB FA class is more interesting next season and that draft is supposed to be stacked as well. There just weren’t many options this year.  When you have Tepper to contend with you have to tread lightly around this unless you are 100% certain and willIng to stake your job on it.   There were a couple of outings that helped Bryce a lot in terms of  thinking maybe he can do this, and if you are a supporter you are giving them a lot of weight. You are likely to think just get him some more help and he can do that every week. Which I think Tepper falls into that category.  And the playoffs, division champs, regardless of the way I see that, the supporters will also give that a lot of weight.    And the big one, the atmosphere In BOA for that WC game, Tepper had to be soiling himself over that. If you pulled Bryce out right now you had better be right and your new guy had better make the playoffs and look good doing it or you will be gone and your chance to build your old team back into respectability will be gone too.  So here we have Pickett on a one year deal, and Grier and King. I understand it.
    • Well, seeing as we play the Lions at home this year, pretty sure that rumor isn't true.
    • Totally possible imo, I also caught that snippet from Morgan where he said “If” we sign him. The lack of competition says otherwise tho 🤷‍♂️
