Winning in New Orleans is tough to do, but they have a chance to get even next week at home. The defense didn't show up against the Saints.

They can't win at the Superdome. Join the club.

Current Playoff Projection: NFC #5 seed (Wild Card)

Cam Newton is famous for his Clark Kent touchdown bit, but he was no match for the Superdome Supermen as the Saints continued to look unbeatable at home. Newton was constantly under siege with nowhere to go with the ball, and the Panthers' defense looked like it was Day One of the training camp zone install as Marques Colston found open spaces with ridiculous ease. Carolina can shake it off after a tremendous eight-game stretch, but even a victory in the rematch may not be enough to keep the Panthers off the road in the playoffs given the Saints' conference tiebreaker edge.

The undermanned secondary finally got exposed. Will it be more of the same Dec. 22 in Charlotte?

Carolina can get revenge on the Saints in two weeks, but even if the Panthers win, they would still lose the tiebreaker -- assuming the Saints win their other two games.

The Panthers need to shake off their loss to the Saints as fast as the Saints shook off their loss to the Seahawks.

Carolina won't wait long for a shot at redemption. After hosting the Jets this week, the Panthers get the Saints in Carolina before finishing at Atlanta, making 11-5 very realistic.

We saw what we needed to see in Sunday night's loss to the Saints on two fronts: 1) How the Panthers fared on the road in an important, nationally televised game; and 2) how their offense responded when forced to play from (well) behind. Is it panic time? No. But this team likely will be on the road in the playoffs. Carolina can probably beat Dallas, Philadelphia or Detroit, but what about Seattle or New Orleans? That's the question with this group.

The win streak ends at eight, but the upside is the Panthers will likely be forced to go without a playoff bye, which is fine because they tend to do poorly off of them anyways. Regrouping and starting a new win streak is now imperative.

We still got a shot at the second seed.  The Aints have to play the Rams at their place, and I believe that defense will beat Brees down like in the past.  We should beat them at our house, and we should win out.  That would give us the number 2 seed in the playoffs.

ridiculous still that many have NE and SF ahead of us....we went into SF and beat them (something that the Hawks could not do)....and beat NE on the biggest stage.  Not to mention that NE is barely beating bottom dweller teams....and needed a phantom PI call at the end of the Browns game to win that one.

We sent into NO (a place where they are basically undefeated under Payton for 3 years) and lost.....yet we are below NE and SF.

We are still better than both of those team.

Philly in Philly scares me. I want Detroit or Dallas in the 1st round.

the only two teams I'm worried about playing in their house is the Seahawks and New Orleans, NO being the most worrisome because with our DB's I think playing on turf hurts us but in the elements plays to our advantage, by hiding our weaknesses more.

Romo/receivers at home scare me more than Foles/McCoy and I definitely don't want to face Megatron

Playing in 1 degree weather in a harsh enviroment like Philly isnt ideal. I would rather take my chances with a sloppy Lions team. The Eagles went right through our D in pre season., We almost beat Detroit in 2011 when we had the worst D in the league. Cold weather stifles defenses and we havent played a game in below freezing weather yet and I would rather not test it during the playoffs.

    • Another layer to that is Ive seen Seattle has been in the market for CB help this off-season.   Michael had a higher PFF grade than Horn who got 15 games this season. He wants to be here too, that's a huge bonus for any 5 win team that had awful pass rush.  The 7th rounder Michael Barrett didn't last long on Seattle, he was cut before the season I think and ended up on browns PS. He's already been on 5.......5 teams within one year.......
    • You have gave the board some recent gold via posting. Heres my poor attempt at the truthful play-by-play of the time during post- I pulled out the old laptop to do my shitposting and check on websites. Open the huddle and see this new thread. Open thread and read CRAs post, {inner thinking, oooOOooo this is my lane and I got this}. Make sure not to scroll even to the 2nd post. 23% of current neurons still firing start up and two names appear- Captain and Josh....... about another 43 seconds past "O GOD" it's July 4th weekend and I got medicine to pick up. (If the laptop didn't give away my aging, the meds should...) I need to split, think long panther careers and the hint-  Ryan Kalil was a late 2nd and Pro bowls(even all-pros too) he's got to be OLman and Mikie Minter is among the all-time Panthers career leaders. Drop my post. Scramble to get keys, wallet, and phone. Check my phone- its 17% battery.....fug I now have to raw dog the pickup line and put the phone on charge.... Flip flops, sweat ringed filled hat, and shades acquired. Get in my pos rav4 and think about not running the A/C. Pull out the drive way and reach the 1st stop light, A/C is wide open. I check my shirt to see if there's any new stains on my house shirt, bush off the Bojangles salt that I see.... Neurons re-fire and focus on the comments CRA made that no one would get this....... Dang IT, that means it isn't Ryan Kalil or Mike Minter! CVS is close, but I know its impossible I get back withing 10 minutes to change my post and my phone is on the charger. {Think you monkey, at one point you were a draft nerd}. Reach the CVS line, by some grace its not 5 cars deep during 5 o'clock traffic hell. Im second in line after the car in front of me both turn in, they have to go back and forth to line up while Im a pro for that geometry. Neurons finally reach peak performance as Ive re-thought draft classes. Think obscure and unknown 7th rounders with long careers. Some Sunday/Monday night member berry fell out of my Melon, Will montgomery during the players intros for washington. I thought he out of the league and was shocked to see him still playing around the 2015 years. I do a goggle background check and that refreshed memory. Pick up the meds and enjoy the sweet smelling cool CVS air. Driving back and check in on one of the local bums at the big stop light, wow he's got a new fancy rug. Think about all the old food I got and need to start giving it away and rethink it. Reach home and post a follow up and I know Minter is wrong too, I check the draft history and see Robert Mcclain. Too late, but that would have been my guess....open CRAs link and get "upset" at the DBs name.
    • THANKS my guy! Keeping up with this threads theme, if I view a thread and there's only 20 posts and some time passes. If I see there's one new post and read the name; @Dave Gettleman's Shortsis among the chosen few that I will reopen that thread just to see what you posted.    Thanks again, plus not just a scout, thats scotty mccloughans son?!?!? If not for the deep claws of booze, scotty is among the best talent finders this league has recently had. Last I heard he ran a consulting business. Caden could be one of those who's on a early path to being a GM in the future. I was a big fan of his dad, dam shame about booze demon ruining his career.
