Dez Bryant Heads for the Locker Room Early

Anybodyhome

Recommended Posts

Despite Romo throwing 2 picks in the last 3 minutes, Dez Bryant thought he'd get an early start on the hot shower and left the field with a little more than 1:40 left in the game.

Seems to me this happened several years ago and it was another WR (TO), could be mistaken. But I remember it was a huge deal then- will this be a big deal in Dallas? Or will the media continue trying to remind us this is "America's Team," Romo is still an elite QB, etc. etc. etc.

It was Randy Moss and yes ESPN made a huge deal out of it. Now in fairness it was during a period where ESPN made a big deal out of Randy farting.

As for Dez, that between him and his teammates as far as I'm concerned. For all we know he had a legitimate reason for packing in in early.

It's really amazing when you think of it: After all the craziness we've seen and heard from the likes of RG3, Dez Bryant, Colin Kaepernick, and so many others the past two years (and those are the guys that managed to stay out of trouble with the law; let's not talk about the others that didn't), the media would fixate so much of their time and vitriol on the relatively minor, insignificant things that Cam did or did not do his past two seasons.

Don't blame him. I am sure he said to himself, been here before.

I love how the media uses Dez's emotions to distraction to the problems of that team. All the analyzing and question of his actions by those on the NFLN is getting quite boring. They pulled the same let's focus on what Dez does BS when the Cowboys blew a close one against the Broncos and Lions. I am sure there are a lot of Cowboy fans who share his feelings.

It seems like those who back Tony in the media enjoy creating a distraction from the Cowboys by always pointing out every ish Dez does. I'd sent Tony to the locker early since he seems to have a tendency of blowing close games.

SMH.. At least get your media facts right since you're quick to swallow whatever they feed you. It was after Tony threw the second pick at 1:27 seconds and the game was out of reach that Dez headed to the locker. No big deal, But it's DEZ BRYANT.

I am still waiting for the folks on NFLN to make a big deal over Tom Brady's profanity ending Presser from yesterday's lost. But I guess he's human and whatever else excuses they will make for him.

Not sure what Dez has done to you but why are you judging him based on the garbaged created by the immature piece of ish we're force to call today's sports media?

Watching today's sports media is like watching a bunch of fugging chidren always trying to get their better performing siblings in trouble.

SMH, go back and read the original post. I simply posed the question whether or not the media was going to make a huge deal of this like they did with his supposed sideline tirades and Randy Moss's departure from the field.

I simply posed the question, you're jumping to conclusions.

    • I’m keeping an eye on what the Hawks do with Boye Mafe. There’s a few young talented players that needs to be retained and one of their defensive starters might not fit within the budget. My guess is probably Riq Woolen is voted off the island but Mafe could be potentially too. His stats aren’t eye popping, but in McDonald’s defense, his role is to leverage for the DL to clean up. Mafe’s QB pressure rate is top notch and in a different scheme, he could clean up.    Just something to watch this weekend when SEA is in town.
    • Ok fair to judge only his starts.  But you do acknowledge that going from "he's waaaay above league average in a number of categories" to "here's a single stat where he's above league average (not "waaaay") and another where he is exactly at the league average" is a pretty significant backpedal, no?  I'm guessing he's probably in the ~10th range for completion percentage too if we're only looking at starts (I'm too lazy to isolate his starts and do the calculations), so I'll grant you that one too.  But I don't think completion percentage is all that meaningful as a standalone stat if it isn't bolstered by good TD%, Y/A, etc. On that note, for how much people like posting Passing Charts in here (*cough* CRA) - if you peep Shough's passing charts, he hasn't completed a single 20+ yard pass in the past 3 games combined.  His last one was in Week 13 against the Dolphins, which was a single pass of 24 yards.  I just want to be consistent in how we apply our standards - I think it's always been warranted to criticize Bryce for it (even dating back to his rookie season), but do we suddenly not care about that with Shough? And yeah I did acknowledge that Saints' fans have reason to be excited about him and complimented his poise, which is giving my props.  Still not sure I agree that he looks better than a "ton" of QBs nor do I think you or anyone have really demonstrated that.  I think you are generally one of the more reasonable level-headed posters which is why I'm confused at what I consider to be rather hyperbolic language about Shough.
    • I don't disagree with you, but want to point out that Tremble's strong suit has always been blocking. Case and point: on Horn's 25 yard run, he lays down not 1 but 2 nice blocks...and is looking for #3! https://www.panthers.com/video/jimmy-horn-jr-s-25-yard-run-gives-panthers-red-zone-access-on-first-drive
