Thanks for all the replies and comments...On a side note as far as injuries nobody was more upset about them then i was. I wish i could have been out there on the field more for my team and my fans but my body at times wouldn't allow...Anyway i had alot of great memories from career and wouldnt trade it for anything. Look forward to this football season and chatting with you guys.

As far as the 2009 panthers i think IF we r gonna win a super bowl this is the year... I predict the Panthers to win the NFC south but it wont be easy. The NFC south is the toughest division in the NFL, with a ton of talent. Knowing coach Fox and the guys on that team, the Arizona playoff game will be in the back of there heads and won't let that happen again if and when they get back.

You were my favorite player for a reason man, you gave it everything you had and then some every play.... i meen 25 tackles in a SB... that record will stand forever.... or back in 04' when LT tried to juke you and you flattened him.. anyone who ever saw you play knows you played for the love of the game the way it was ment to be!

My wife and I ate there yesterday evening. We had the #55 Special pizza and shared a house salad. The pizza was excellent and the salad was large enough to share. The waitress said it was her favorite pizza. The $2 draft Miller Lites were pretty good also. I told the manager that I came there because of the Huddle and he said he would send Dan over to talk to us. Dan still looks like he could play. He was friendly and very pleasant. He has 3 small children (1,2 and 3). Maybe he thought they were more important than another year of football in NO. Great place to eat. The waitress says Dan is there all the time and the manager says he never misses a meeting. He is not just another jock businessman who thinks all he has to do is put his name on a door and leave.

So he's a micro-manager like Fox... :D

Mature, mildly intelligent Panther fans know that Dan, we know you gave it 110% every play, and as a fan base we are grateful.

Look forward to your posts and pizza when I get back to Charlotte...

absolutely! It breaks my heart that he had to retire so young, you could tell he lived for football. reminds me of one of a line from one of my favorite songs.

Keep some sorrow in your hearts and minds. For the things that die before their time.

Children, theres a time and a place for hiding behind your keyboard making bullshit comments, and it's called the Tinderbox! Do you understand?

Speaking of which, who let you out of there?? Go on, git!

    • I don't necessarily think he will be moved, I would currently be leaning against that notion. I think a lot will depend on the coaching situation. Carroll certainly can't be thinking about wanting to go through a serious strip down and overhaul, so the longer he plans to remain, the less likely I think Crosby gets moved.
    • I think everyone says Mike Evans because of size, but really they have different strengths and play styles.  Tmac is better on intermediate routes and not nearly as good at contested catches.
    • At this point, it is criminal to go into the 2026 training camp/OTA's with XL penciled in as a #2 WR. The team must upgrade, either through free agency or the draft. If he cannot give 100% effort on significantly less snaps as a #4-6 WR(players like Tremayne have done that consistently) then I don't think you have a player worth rostering beyond the trade deadline. Offensively, we eventually have to upgrade to an NFL starting caliber C. It's been almost the length of time from Gross to Ikey since Kalil retired and we have below average to terrible C play. Love Mays as a BC-esque utility backup but he will never be an above average long term starting C.  The TE room is one of the worst in the NFL but it's a low usage position in this offense, so the investments are likely to be small, if any. I would never expect to see an elite TE in a Dave Canales offense. 100% agree on OL depth. We actually aren't bad there but BC will be gone, Mays is a UFA, Corbett is a UFA and Zavala has been both injured and bad. We have to bolster that depth again or resign guys like Mays and Corbett to keep that depth somewhat stable.
