When you think of Cam being such a good looking guy and see picture of this guy talking poo about him, you kind of can't take what he says seriously. Cam probably reminds him of a guy who had all the girls whom he used to be jealous of. Poor Schein doing his best to retaliate. Kind of sad.

Do all fanbases get so caught up and butt hurt over stuff like this? I hope the winning streak we go on cures this inferiority complex.

Lets blow his twitter up.....LOL...lets type at him to death!

We will win the superbowl and still find something to complain about. Just wait and see.

He makes his mistake by trying to predict the future.  His assessment of Cam in May, 2013 was pretty much accurate and his criticism was justified--Cam became a leader and things changed dramatically, but Cam had to make some very important decisions during the off-season.  He mentions them during training camp, coaches mention them, and his teammates mention these small changes that have made all the difference in the world.  So if you were calling Cam a great quarterback before he made these important changes, you were wrong.

It was easy to assume that Cam was not a problem because his stats were through the roof.  However, he is better now and his stats are much more modest.  If you understand why that is, you understand what it is to be a QB in the NFL.  By the way, Cam has a ways to go, but we already built a defense that would keep us in every game---NOW we need to build the offense around Cam. While Cam has been solid this season, we have only needed 2 TDs from the offense to win most of them.  A better RT, better WR, and healthy Gs.  Give Cam those things with this mindset, and this team becomes unbeatable when you throw in the defense and special teams.

This idiot makes a fool out of himself, but you are talking about two Cam Newtons here. The mature Cam had not evolved yet, so his predictions are closer to being right that wrong; had Cam not seen the light, I have no reason to think we would be 11-4 right now.  Cam Newton is a franchise QB NOW but he wasn't then.  Next stop--elite qb. He is not there yet, but working toward it.  (Elite to me is top 8- 25%; franchise is probably top 16-50%).  I think Brady, Rodgers, Manning, Brees, Rivers, Rothlesberger, Stafford/Ryan (in previous years) are probably the top 8 QBs, but you can see where Newton, Luck, E. Manning/Cutler (previous years) and R. Wilson are knocking on the door.  Next year, when Cam gets some weapons and better protection, he should take that step.

This is the way I see it and it is how great QBs are developed.  Praising them during losing seasons is not.  QBs like John Elway, Terry Bradshaw, Steve McNair, etc. became great, but they were not at first.  All talk about maturation as the key to their success.  All of them.

To be fair you guys are blasting this dude for saying pretty much the same thing 99% of the people on here were saying around the same time.

Nice strawman.

And an inaccurate one at that.

Most on this forum were predicting improvement this year because of the way we finished last year.  Many were even predicting playoffs.

    • Jalen Carter came into camp out of shape too. That was part of the reason he dropped considering he was thought of as the better defensive player pre-draft activities. It’s not a good sign when you don’t look great but it’s definitely premature.
    • We won 5 with the worst defense in the history of defenses.  I think free agency and our draft puts us over 6.5.
    • Leaning towards just ordering this tonight, but now I have no idea on size. Has anyone bought a bunch of jerseys in the last few years and can convey how the Game vs Limited vs Reebok versions all fit? These are both Mediums... The white one here is a Reebok one from 2010, and was when they had the "+2 length" on the tag and it was the version with the stitched numbers instead of iron on... the blue one is from 2022 and is the F.U.S.E Limited version also with stitched stuff, not the "game jersey" with the ironed on numbers/letters that they have the T-Mac jerseys in. The old one fits me fine, the blue one was always a tad snug on me, particularly in the shoulders I'm leaning going with a Large based on the CMC, but for all I know, that is made with a tighter cut due to the higher "limited" level and the "game" ones they have for T-Mac are cut more like a T-Shirt and thus will fit more like the old white one I have here, not sure. (and yes, I already tried going to a sporting goods store here to hopefully try on a Lions jersey to see, but they don't have any right now)
