You're right Dictator, but that really means Vegas sees the Niners as anywhere from 3 to 5.5 points better than us from the lines posted.

Sportsbook has SF -1.  Home team gets 3 points, which means Vegas thinks SF would be a 4 point favorite on a neutral field and a whopping touchdown favorite at home.

The home team getting an automatic -3 is somewhat of a common misconception, like one dog year equalling seven human years.

When I used to hangout at the books in Vegas regularly I saw as being closer to -2/-2.5 if the teams were perceived as an even matchup.

But take a team like Houston at home against say SF, they aren't gonna adjust the line an automatic anything for them being at home.

This has been my experience anyway.
