There will be four new bays installed at three entry gates with extra wide escalators in each bay.

Two new ribbon boards (approximately 5 feet high) will encircle the entire bowl at club level and upper bowl level.

Two new 63' high x 212' long high-definition video boards will be located above each end zone.

Bank of America Stadium will also feature new illuminated glass domes on each of the three entry gates.

A new high-efficiency, high-octave distributed sound system will also be installed throughout the bowl.

Team President Danny Morrison says construction on Bank of America Stadium is scheduled to begin two weeks from today

These renovations are phase one of three. The Panthers plan on making renovations over the next three years during each

offseason.

The team hired Turner Construction for the 2014 renovations, which are scheduled to be finished July 1.

The Panthers plan to build four new escalator bays to bring fans to the upper bowl faster. The escalators can carry 6,000 people an hour, the team said.

On top of the escalator bays will be four new “party plazas.” These spaces will allow fans in the upper bowl to congregate, watch games on TVs and have views of the city and uptown skyscrapers.

The team will also install flagpoles on the top of the upper bowl that will double as new speakers to improve the stadium sound system.

Update.  Heres a video

Unfortuantely I see nothing about the horrible buzzing sound from the lights in the upper deck or the lack of drainage system to deal with the swimming pool effect in the lower deck when it rains. Or some kind of rest room modification to put more urinals in the bathroom.  Cmon, They can do rows or something to add more, 1 wall of urinals per bathroom doesnt cut it.

You can see at the stadium where they've started doing the preliminary work for the escalators.  My question is it looks like they end up outside, so do they have a gate before you get on the people movers?  That's gonna be interesting.  I was under the impression they were going to be set up to use after you get inside the concourses.

    • Well, he either plays well or we suck again and get the #1 pick and get our new QB for next year.  Im not stressing.
    • the way it should be. the way it has to be.  when you get a rookie (no matter where he is drafted), you don't expect him to play like a vet or even get a grasp on NFL offenses like a vet. if you intend to have him running the offense, you build the offense around what they do and what clicks.  not Young's fault, but he was sold as someone who would be a rookie but has the mind of a seasoned vet. guess what...he wasn't. reich and "his" crew had no idea how to work with a rookie QB or groom one. they thought they knew, but they didn't and it was obvious in the lack of plan they had for him. their plan was to treat him like he was a seasoned vet. even with that, i don't think they had any clear vision not just with Bryce, but with the offense. There was no cohesion between all the various coaches. nothing fit together and reich wasn't a strong enough leader to pull it all together.  i like the approach of starting over with the fundamentals and i think it's good for any new coaching staff or new QB to a system. you don't know what to expect so you start from the beginning to make sure you're on the same page from the beginning. and as you get more used to each other, you learn what works, what could really work well, and what won't work and you form the playbook around that. contrast that with chud who had been working on a playbook for years and just wanted to use it regardless of whether the situation called for it or the personnel he had (on the team or even on the field) fit what he wanted to call.   or last year when we had coaches from completely different backgrounds trying to put something together that was supposed to be a blend of what each brought to the table, but just ended up being a sloppy predictable mess that didn't fit anyone on the team, QB, WRs, and OL.
    • I've always been super pumped up for the upcoming season but I've never been so uninterested in a new season. After six years under Dipper I've been left at end of season drunken and wallowing in my own piss... not invested in the team right now but hope Canales and Morgan make a good team together...
