Coming out flat

The 49ers have over looked us all week, they act like this game is already over. Greg Roman has interviewed with two teams this week and is going to interview with the Vikings tonight making it three. The 49ers flew back to SF instead of staying in Green Bay and getting an extra practice. They skipped walk-through practice today because it was raining, god knows a football team would melt in rain. On top of all of this our players feel disrespected. We want blood, we want war. RR has been filling this team with propaganda all week to get us pumped up. I know I'm probably going to get poo for saying this but, does anyone else feel like there is a big chance the 49ers might come out flat and just get dominated? I've watched football my whole life just like many of the users on this forum and I think we all know what happens when a team over looks an opponent like this.

When was the last time a playoff team was this overlooked? I bet Denver has game planed ten times more for the Chargers than the 49ers have for the Panthers.

Worried about it?   Get to your seat early. Fill the stadium for warmups.

DO your part as fans to show them the fanbase isn't flat.

I'm not worried about the Panthers coming out flat, we will be loud and proud.

I feel the 49ers have overlooked us so extremely they think this will be a cakewalk and come out flat.

No I don't. I do not believe they are taking us lightly in anyway. In fact, they prob skipped practice in the rain because they were afraid of possible injury or sickness. They know they need their best team & their A game tomorrow. Is it possible they come out flat anyway? Yes. Not likely tho. IMO.

Yeah I've been kinda surprised with the way they've handled everything .. I want to crush them - I want this more than any game I can remember .. it's the arrogance of their franchise and fans

Based on past bye week performances, I would normally be more concerned about us coming out flat, but this is the playoffs. The Panthers can attest that you're not guaranteed making it here every year. Add the fact that everyone and their brother seems to discredit any scenario in which the 'Cats could be successful on Sunday, and you get a team that is hungry, focused, and determined to defend their home turf. I would be very surprised if either team comes out flat. If anything, I am more scared that they may be too pumped, and have to muddle through for a time until they can settle down. Still, I think we got this.

this is actually a great idea. what time to the gates open? i'd actually leave the huddle tailgate early to go make some noise in the stadium. can we put out a call to arms and have fans do this? my last question is this though, would it be a detriment to the Panthers pregame if we did this?

I'm predicting Cam steps up his game in a major way

kinda like most legendary athletes - they always play better in the postseason

this may be another turning point in his career

I also expect our gameplan to be different in a major way and to surprise SF - making them look flat

    • If we were a solid winning organization most of us would have no problems with this selection. We would have had a capable starter in place to allow him to be eased into the rotation. If were told prior to the draft that he had been completely cleared health wise, we "probably" wouldn't have a ton of reservations about this selection. If we had picked this young man on Day 3 of the draft most of us would have no problems with this selection because we wouldn't have had to use draft capital to move up and get him. Unfortunately, none of the above were true 1)  We were a terrible team in 2024 and needed an immediate impact player. 2)  He was hurt near the the end of the 2023 season. We traded up to get him even though we knew he wasn't medically cleared to play in 2024. 3) When training camp started we were hearing stories that the knee wasn't ready. That alone should have raised some red flags. I personally would have red-shirted him in 2024 in order to have him ready for 2025. We had Chubba as our lead back and other guys to fill the #2 and #3 spots on the depth chart. There was no need to rush Brooks unto the field in 2024. Here's our draft history in the 2nd round between 2021 and 2024 2021 TMJ 2022 No draft choice. We picked Matt Corall in round 3 (#94) as our only Day 2 pick. 2023 Jonathan Mingo 2024 Jonathon Brooks. We have taken 4 skill players on Day 2 of the draft for the past 4 years who have contributed absolutely nothing to the offensive side of the football. 3 are no longer on the team. Two of them are no longer in the NFL. One  could possibly never start a game due to a knee injury. This type of poor drafting is why this team has been so bad for the entire decade.
    • Even limited as he was I still don't think they have replaced his production, and not just the sack stats. The games Clowney missed it was very obvious what his value still was. Risky move but whatever. They only had 32 sacks last year and if that drops then it's going to get ugly. I see the improvement in run stopping but not in pass protect in any way.
    • I have zero issues with this.
