It really doesn't surprise me he moved to Wilmington and is a 49ers fan. Between there and Durham or Fayetville, dangerous cities. That said, his reasoning seems to be more to protect himself from being too much of a Panthers fan.

If the Panthers had won, his tune would change. Isn't that the beauty of "having 2 teams"? You don't have two favorite teams. You have a team you stake your credibility on, and a team you can fall back on.

Not true at all. I was a 49ers fan before the Panthers ever existed. I am very loyal to my teams and it just would not have felt right to ever turn my back on them. I was a 49ers fan when Tim Rattay was the starting QB and I was a 49ers fan when me and my friends got to watch the Panthers go to the Super Bowl, nothing has or will change.

I understand why certain players and fans and people in the media, like players who remain humble about their success. There is a reason why Russell Wilson is so highly respected by many.

 

A lot of folks simply can't stand players who walk around with this undeserved sense of entitlement. At times, I will admit that Cam has come off as that kind of a player, and I get why when linebackers sack him they do the Superman in his face. What bothered me more than Kap doing the Superman was that it did not disgust our team and we did not respond back. Instead we folded. 

 

If Cam did the belt move like Aaron Rogers does, against the Packers after a touchdown, I'd expect the Packers to be pissed about it and answer. We didn't answer to Kap and company. Could have been because we tried to set a tone, the refs weren't consistent in their play calling and the team wasn't sure how it wanted to play the 49ers because of it.
