Unknown panthers

Just looking through some of the panthers contracts and roster fodder, it's interesting because there's two players that's names stand out too me, I know we have signed players on to futures contracts and they will be camp fodder know doing with the odd player making it in the roster allocation but three interesting names that didn't play any part this year who will be in the 53 next year perhaps?.

Guard Travis Bond: he was claimed off waivers from the Vikings, signed a four year long term deal in November, I only thought he was to be cover for amini and kugbila but a long term deal must show belief in him to be a starter?

Wide receiver Tavares King: claimed off waivers from the broncos. I've done a lot of research on this kid, he's highly talked of and Denver didn't want to lose the him, he was dropped of the 53 to allow Von miller back, he had no action this year but he also was signed to a four year long term deal.

Probably not news to some of you I wasn't aware of there long term deals, but they must be close to being starter quality and are two keys positions we lack and are talking about for the draft and FA.

If anyone has anymore on these guys and think they could possibly be starters is be interested, but they probably seem like starters next year obviously depending on who we sign this off season.

All drafted rookies get 4-year deals. Those guys are still on the rookie contracts they got from the teams that drafted them and we claimed the contracts when we claimed the players.

Not saying they aren't in the future plans, but that's just the way rookie deals are structured. Similarly lot of people thought UDFA Morgan Lineberry was gonna make the roster and possibly supplant Gano since we gave him a 3-year deal, but all UDFA deals are for three years (they just aren't guaranteed).

Thanks for the replies guys, King was really liked by fox and manning at Denver, he was drafted as a late rounder think was 7th round, but they made some adjustments to stop the packers claiming hi and as I said he was only waiverd to allow Von miller back on the roster, any receiver that Peyton manning thinks is good and the packers oc rates highly is good by me, I honestly think he could be a starter for us this year with hixon gone and possible lafell & ginn not coming back, the kid has had a year to learn the playbook and get some chemistry with cam, I may be wrong but gettleman did spot a certain Victor Cruz so here's hoping!

I'd nothing else, they could be great fun next year as our preseason heroes and all pros!

King is interesting. Good measurables, good college career and the Peyton Manning "like" (which is scientifically proven to be better than Facebook's).

At the time Cruz was signed, I'm pretty sure Gettleman was just working on the pro personnel evaluation side, so he really may not have been involved in the decision on Cruz.

The credit for that one probably belongs to their scouting department, followed by their coaches for giving him a good opportunity in camp.

Travis Bond is a really big guy. I remember reading that he has tackle size but isn't athletic enough to play out there.

At 6'7" 330 lbs. I think Bond has a future as a RG. Reading his bio, he started 25 games at RG when he was playing for the Tarheels. With coaching and some seasoning, I think he could be the long-term answer there.
