So Gems from today.

I for one think the Panthers need different blocking back then Talbert. Talbert is not even close to what Hoover was in any category, run, pass catching, and especially blocking. I think the young guy from Penn St will challenge him. Talbert may have been selected as a pro bowler, but not in my minds eye

I don't know Talbert is, but we need to replace him quick!

Mr. Richard Johnson (not kidding)  brings it!

In the Form of unsolicited Cam commentary:

Why not write the REAL story? Cam has no intention of playing here past his rookie contract. ZERO. He has told the Panthers he will not even discuss it. He wants to move to a big market where he can pursue his other interests. I know this is a fact, and I am sure lots of the press knows it as well. Why keep the readers in the dark? We need to be looking for a replacement, and now. Our D is solid, and if we can get a QB who understands what it takes to win, we have a shot. Why not shop Cam, see if we can get anything out of him before he walks. This is playing out EXACTLY like the Peppers fiasco.

Another proud Charlottian on Rivera winning a Coach of the year and what it means for his basketball career

Well deserved. Unfortunately, often the kiss of death too (see George Karl, Mike Leach, Avery Johnson, Sam Mitchell, Matt Doherty, Al Skinner, need I go on?).

Gettleman is a dirty yankee liar by Charlotean:

how long is he going to ride that excuse out? his entire contract?

the dude got handed a 12-4 team that he was easily able to get 20 million under the cap year one, and by carrying that over should easily be able to retain that team and add a draft class.

18 of the 25 starters were hurney guys and that's not counting godfrey missing the year, gano who was signed by hurney's assistant, lotulelei who would have been the obvious pick for ANY gm, and the 2nd corner spot which at times was josh thomas.

props to the guy on mitchell, props on ginn. no props what so ever for the beason trade. didn't save enough to only get a 7th rounder for a guy that was a pro bowl OUTSIDE linebacker (as well as inside) previously and balled out in NY this year.

dude needs to stop acting like he was handed the browns or something. it's absolutely insulting and it's insane that the observer doesn't call him on it and instead regurgitates that "cap hell" BS he's been spewing all year.

stop. seriously.

gettleman is going to ride that "cap challenged" thing for years. and you guys are eating it up.

godfrey, olsen, and stewart are not getting their cap figures. everybody knows that including gettleman but he's going to play that card to protect himself.

he inherited a young core ready to contend if coached properly. the guy is pinch running on third base and complaining about there being 1 out.

that 20 million carries over. that franchise tag is sitting there. our QB is under contract for 2 more years. the 3 listed above plus others will be restructured or extended. another draft class on rookie scale. few holes to fill.

he can easily bring back EVERYBODY on this roster plus a new draft class to address depth/injury/age/looming retirement issues.

but yeah.....cap challenged. please observer.....this year....be reporters. report the truth along WITH the quotes. report the actual payroll guaranteed and non-guaranteed. not that 16 over the cap BS of last year with gamble being 10 million of it.

12-4 where coaching cost us at least 2 of the games if not 3. That's not cap challenged. that's talent stacked. especially when we did that with a few starters missing the year or most of it.

Lenny gives us some solid moves to make in Free Agency, this is likely someone who misses PrimeTime with the Pacman...

I say we takes this oppertunity to clean house on the offense line. Gross has at least some trade value. And what we really need is more wide receivers to let Cam shine. I think a package deal of Gross and Kalil with one top player to Dallas for Dez Bryant would be a really good thing for us. The third play would have to be someone good. I'm thinking either Kukely or Hardy.

Dez Bryant would give us just what we need to line up with Smitty as the #2 receiver.

Seems we need to draft a QB:

Wow..no one mentioned a QB...sorry no Cam fan here. He may shine sometimes but we need a consistent thrower, mover, thinker. He has had 3 yrs to grow. Look at the stand out QB's in the league before any negative comments on this. Other than that...replace all secondary except Cap't M. Go Panthers!

Enjoy

I bet you one of them idiots was the asshole sitting behind me in 533, with 6 minutes to go in the THIRD quarter, declared the game over and might as well leave.

I promptly turned around and asked him why the hell he wasted his money, and time away from the house if he wasn't going to support the Panthers to the final tick of the game.

That pissed me off more than any part of the game.

    • Panthers sign OT Rasheed Walker Terms: One year, up to $10 million Grade: A The price of this deal might be the most shocking of free agency thus far. Walker was widely considered the best free agent tackle this year and was expected to receive a large contract. But his market developed very slowly, so he has signed a one-year deal with a maximum value of $10 million -- meaning the base value is below that -- per NFL Network. For context, my free agency contract model projected a deal averaging $21.8 million for Walker. Instead, it's a short-term commitment for less than half that. And the Panthers are the beneficiaries. Carolina entered this offseason with a possible need at left tackle after Ikem Ekwonu suffered a patellar tendon rupture in the playoffs that put his 2026 season in question. It's also the last year of his contract. The Panthers signed Stone Forsythe as an insurance plan already in free agency, but once Walker's market fell it seemed like they felt adding him was well worth it, too. Our win rate metrics consider Walker to be a solid player. Last season in Green Bay, he was in the 85th percentile among tackles in pass block win rate, though only 22nd percentile in run block win rate. He was in the 69th percentile and 48th percentile in those two metrics in 2024, respectively. Given that Dan Moore Jr. received $20.5 million per year from the Titans last year most -- myself included -- thought Walker would walk away with more than that. Perhaps the struggles of Moore (who wasn't great last season) contributed to Walker's market being cooler than expected, a theory that ESPN's Jeremy Fowler suggested. Walker was also arrested two months ago at LaGuardia Airport in New York for allegedly trying to check-in with a firearm that he had a license for in Wisconsin but not New York. Either way, teams felt differently about Walker than most on the outside thought. But he's a heck of an add for the Panthers at this price. While his run-game contributions might be far from perfect, a weak pass protector at tackle can sink a passing game. Even if this is only a one-year arrangement, Walker should be able to help keep Bryce Young upright
    • Fantastic signing. If he is good, this will make next offseason really interesting. I would imagine that Morgan would try to extend Walker and convince Ikey to move to the right side to replace Moton. This also opens up options at 19 at lot instead of forcing a tackle. I'm not a fan, but I'm definitely more open to Morgen drafting Sadiq now, but there is also Peter Woods, and even some like Dillon Thieneman is now in the mix. Hell, I'm still for another off ball LB.
    • sure, but Panthers are theoretically in their win now window. Their first rounder needs to be a day one starter
