the '87 volvo station wagon still has some miles left in it, but in about six months i'll be driving back and forth to charlotte a couple times a week from greensboro and i'm not sure i trust it for any real length of time, so i'm going to suspend my cheapskate tendencies and rigid adherence to a budget that doesn't involve new things and go ahead and buy one. what should i get?

gas milage is important, i'd like something with good maintenance records, i've never driven an actual nice vehicle in my life so it'd be nice to get something halfway decent, preferably a manual transmission, under $10k if possible (i'd go over a few grand if it was really worth it.)

basically a clown car... i fit so much poo in my '07. back seats fold flat, which was a major selling point to me. since the wife and i go to several camping festivals a year, we had to be able to pack a ton of poo in the car.

i average about 38mpg's... on the road trips i can pull 42-45. just rolled 150k miles last weekend and have had zero necessary work done outside of regular maintenance. my brother bought an '09 and has had the exact same results with his

    • After last season, it was the same question. And the answer most people came to was "If he doesn't make the playoffs, he's gone." He made the playoffs. No matter how it was done, we made it to the playoffs. He's safe. He's going to have a chance to keep working this out, even if next season isn't a playoff one.  I think we'll do better next year than we did this season. There's something being built here.
    • The NBA is a very fickle league. Kon is one of the hottest rookies in years and beyond just his play on the court he is a very steady competitor and that translates to the rest of the team. That has been a glaring absence with the culture of this franchise through the bulk of the LaMelo Ball years that's just being completely blunt and realistic. The enigma of LaMelo Ball is he is entering year 6 and still either red hot or ice cold. We need him to find that sweet spot. Logic dictates the Hornets will want to see this core again next year. But the clock is beyond ticking at this point. It's put up or shut up. Especially considering what the Thunder managed to do recently. I'm hopeful they can keep these wins rolling in and get some much needed playoff experience under their belts which will help substantially.
    • I think as long as the Panthers are competitive with Canales they should keep him. Pepper needs to repair his/the teams image as a place prized free agents aren't hesitant to consider. Just dont do any crazy poo for a few years.
