Mint Hill, I got cable back. Just went outside and trees completely covered with ice. It's a downpour in mint hill.

And I don't get into the North-South thing... It's arbitrary crap, like race, that people use to divide themselves from one another. But, I will tell you this... When I repeatedly see/hear neighbors talk about how dumb and overreactionary people from NC are when it comes to weather, and then I see those same people run off the road and then blame it on someone else for "slamming on brakes" in the snow (which in these conditions is literally impossible), I get a hearty laugh.

Soon as Southerners stop abandoning their cars on the highway we might start on that. This stuff isn't hard. Leaving your car on the road is just asinine.

both of my brothers lost power my dad lost power, I have power but preparing to leave if we lose it... I have snakes if it gets cold we have to leave.

Gastonia has a section showing as red on the rader, but its all sleet. Couldn't even imagine sleet falling that hard. Can't wait to see photos of the aftermath.

It's pouring down hard here in Concord, Sleet mainly, maybe a tiny bit of snow mixed in if any at all.

Just released his latest forecast and it's not good at all. 

 

Storm sticking around well into Thursday and Friday morning with a clipper Friday night. 

 

Raised his projection for Ice in Charlotte to .20 of an inch.

So far only thing we've gotten in concord is snow and sleet, so I still have power. It's sleeting really hard now though.

Well, I explained in that post, that wasn't what happened.  The dude blamed one of our neighbors for causing it by "slamming on brakes," which is impossible in the Raleigh area.  There's virtually no grip.  Additionally, he said it happened in our neighborhood, lol.  No one was out of their car.

And regardless of all these people confident in their superior, non-Southern, REAL snow, blizzard-tested driving skills, there's a whole lot of tough guys running off the road, even when people weren't leaving their cars. 

But, I agree, people leaving their cars is just beyond stupid.
