Kiper declares Manziel the best QB in the Draft

ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper said Johnny Manziel is the consensus best QB in the draft.

I think Bridgewater and others are better, but I'm not exactly a Manziel fan.

I would take Bridgewater over Manziel because I believe he has more upside as an NFL quarterback..  I he feel enters the upcoming NFL Draft  the consensus top signal-caller and a projected top-five pick. If Bridgewater had been in the 2013 NFL Draft, he probably would have been the first quarterback selected and could have gone at the top of the first round.

I agree with you on Bridgewater. He's a much more polished player. I think Manziel will be decent enough in the long run, but he's going to need more time to develop into an NFL quarterback. I see a lot of RG3 in manziel.

No issues with Bridgewater's skills. I think he's the best QB in the draft on that front.  My worry with him is his frame.  A sub 200 guy playing in the NFL?  He definitely should bulk up.

Manziel?  I honestly believe he's gonna be a massive bust.

Bridgewater will get bigger with a couple years of NFL weight training.

Manziel could be a huge bust. I'm a big believer that you can do anything if you're willing to put in the work. He definitely is going to take a while to develop into a sound NFL quarterback, but whether he comes around or busts is going to depend on his work ethic and if he's willing to be coached up.

Could be, but when I look at him I see the next Ryan Leaf (though a shorter version).

    • This is the Saints current QB room, a 2nd round rookie and former 4th and 5th round QBs.  Pretty sad when Rattler is your best option even though Shough is tops of their depth chart for right now. Dude would have been a day 3 guy in the 2024 QB class right there with Rattler.  A paper thin QB class pushed Shough to a day 2 pick.  Expect them to sign a veteran before training camp.
    • D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently.  oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform.  would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset.  Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.
    • I have to say it's quite fascinating seeing you pivot from months and months of wailing and agonizing about threads derailing into Bryce Young slingfests only for you to turn around and do the same thing. And just for the record. Nobody in life ever attained wisdom and clarity from mistakes by having people blindly fawn over them and tell them they are above reproach and incapable of making mistakes. Our front office is just as human as we are. And based on the fact that front offices across the league outside of a handful of teams change on a fairly regular basis it's safe to say they are certainly no more infallible than the average Joe even though they possess significantly more knowledge usually. If you want a utopia where all you do is shine shoes for anyone associated with the Panthers you go right on ahead and create yourself a new community sir. More power to you.
