Kiper declares Manziel the best QB in the Draft

If I were a GM, I would be very relunctanct to draft, as Madwolf said, a small frame QB, especially when one of his chief attributes is his running.  Over and over, we have seen guys like Vick or RGIII be injured.  You are not that exciting standing on the sideline with your arm or foot in a cast.

Bigger guys like Cam are a far safer bet.  Wilson is very smart with his running and takes few chances of being clocked.  Manziel is just crazy enough to try to make a couple more yds and be the broken collarbone/concussion poster boy.

I actually think he might get drafted by Cleveland, but with their second 1st round pick.

Sans the current players in the NFL no QB 6'1" or under has been a Hall of Famer since 1970.

Manziel has a worse arm than Bridgewater

He has a worse attitude

He put up the same numbers through the air with a much better supporting cast than Bridgewater

He doesn't have great mechanics

He has a weaker arm than Bridgewater

I'm not saying Manziel won't succeed, I'm just saying that between him and Teddy, I'm choosing Teddy every time.

You said the same thing twice.

Manziel has a winners attitude. Don't knock him for that.

He put up overall better numbers than bridgewater playing against worlds better competition than bridgewater did.

In Johnny's heismann winning year he put up better numbers than this guy called cam newton.

No offense, but this is the dumbest argument I have ever heard in my life.

Boomer Esiason had better stats than John Elway in college, what the fug did that mean????

Cam also led Auburn 12-0 with significantly less talent than Manziel

Ok not sure how boomer and elway have much to do with the guy I quotes saying that bridgewater put up comparable numbers to manziel this year.

Do you think the AAC and SEC are comparable talent wise?

Hint. The answer is not even close

Who do you think he was playing with????? Four and Five star recruits????????

Every game he was stepping up in the pocket having to evade rushers

Competition has nothing to do with having good mechanics, good footwork, good accuracy and ball placement and arm strength

UCF the team that bridgewater had almost 70% completions and 350 yards bashed Baylor in a BCS bowl game this year

(" ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper said Johnny Manziel is the consensus best QB in the draft.")

Mel Kiper lost all credibility with me after he rated Jimmy Clausen so highly. My guess is history is about to repeat in his rave about Manziel.

    • I tend to look at all of these guys and wonder how committed they are to doing special teams? It's a big deal when you're fighting for roster spots. And we need massive refreshes to all phases of the special teams game. And the idea that four or five of these players could see rotational use outside of special teams would be a win. This team has accumulated quite a bit of dead wood over the last five years and its time to take an axe to some of it. These new fellows have a shot to benefit from that if they can really push. That being said, wow that receivers room is crowded right now. I'm not sure if I was a vet player with more than 2 years experience other than Adam Thielen if I'd be too sure of my future here. Tet is guaranteed a spot, Coker earned his for sure and they aren't done with XL developing yet. That's only two to three spots left for the entire room. It's going to be very competitive and better for Bryce's future, too. Safety and linebacker are the opportunity spots here this season. There's room for the right guy and we may see a starter eventually from one of these UDFAs, either by merit or injury.
    • Aho and Jarvis just gripping it too tight right now. Relax, play their 200 ft game and the shots will start to find the net. Freddie has been excellent and welcome back Mista Svechnikov. Burns.....well, thank goodness for Slavin.
    • Supposedly he plans on staying in college for all 4 years.
