Smith to 49'ers?

Gonna be honest I would rather not take a 6th to see Smitty in a Niners uniform.

After that little bitch Harbaugh acted the way he did they're now in my top 5 of most hated teams. The only two places Steve could go that would make me more angry would be Atlanta or New Orleans.

I don't even want the pick, fug the 49ers.

Looking at 2 less victories given the fact a comparable WR is not on the market to replace Smith.  I don't see the Panthers making the playoffs in 2014 without Smith.

That's a lot to put on the shoulders of a 35 year old WR who has had a steep decline over the last two seasons. Especially without knowing what moves our GM is making...

Eh he wasn't as dominant as say 2005 where he equated to like 8 of their wins, but maybe the Miami game with that huge 4th down catch, I'll give him that.  Which other one?

He made several game changing plays that didn't equal TDs.  He was Cams life line on many plays throughout the season.

Who said Denver wants him? He's also on record saying he will play in 2014. With SF you keep him out of the division, get a draft pick AND give him a legit shot at a ring.

We don't play SF this season, what happened in the playoffs is irrelevant now.

If Super Bowl is your goal, you know you'll be playing them again. I can see it now. Steve Smith catches the game winning td in Charlotte to send the panthers home.

No.  Like catching the balls that NO other WR on the team could or would have caught.  It's beyond stats.  It's leadership, drive and overall determination.  I'll give Smith the New England game.  He made Talib his little girl.

I just don't see how it's legitimate. If it were then as much as I'd rather part with Steve and let him decide what he wants to do (i dont care about some worthless 6th, guy has quite literally carried this team through multiple seasons) you can't turn down putting that contract on them and being free of it.

Still don't think it's legitimate.

Just remember hardy was a 6th rounder while players dont always pan out like hardy its nice to be able to try and find players like him

    • The only thing I know is nfl red zone.
    • We put a ton of high draft capital into young WRs over the past few years. We drafted a WR in top 2 rounds of the draft in 4 out of the past 5 years. At some point, we need to rely on the dudes we drafted vs relying on veteran role players. That's the only way we're going to evolve as a team and take the next step to going back to winning again.  Remember when Cam lost KB and everyone thought it was the end of the universe? And 2015 happened.  Maybe losing Theilen and Coker will open some opportunities for some other guys to step up.
    • So apparently in the time between the end of the last football season, and now, a TON of streaming sites have been taken down. From what I remember most of these idiotic offiicial streaming services that offer NFL games don't ever offer ALL of the games. I remember subscribing to one service on youtube last season that cost hundreds of dollars and it would still constantly tell me games were either blacked out or unavailable, which is totally ridiculous. Is there any one service that I can watch ALL of the games on?? It gets on my everlasting nerves already that there's so many different streaming sites and they are all expensive as hell. I don't want to take out an entire additional car payment to subscribe to 4 different streaming services to watch all the games. Is there just ONE I can subscribe to? The most comprehensive thing I have access to now is Sirius XM. It's only 10 ish bucks a month and I can listen to the home or away broadcasts of any game. Only thing is I can't WATCH the games but this seriously comes in handy if I'm out doing something, driving, or can't stay still at the moment to watch the games. But usually I'm off on Sundays, so I mostly want to watch them.
