Evaluation, my ass! Distraction? And where the fug is Jerry? ***RANT***

:growl:

You still believe all that poo about Smitty being evaluated?  Don't give me that Gettleman-honesty bullshit. Believe what you want, but if I had to bet it would be that all that mamby-pamby ass talk was a smokescreen. Gettleman is one shrewd ass, lying motherfuger. He knew exactly the way he was thinking before the season even ended.  You don't develop the impression that a guy is a distraction and stunting the development of leadership in a couple of weeks. That's a crock of horseshit.

Even if I thought that maybe Smith alienated G-man and the Panthers FU by basically saying that he wished that he had been talked to before the comment, that just makes G-man look like a big sensitive lard ass who got his little feelings hurt, and decided to show Smitty---Panthers legend, leader on the team and in the community---a lesson on a fuging very weak whim.

Either way, it just looks bad, and I don't really believe the latter.  G-man had to know which way his breaking wind was blowing,  and he should have let Smitty know in his exit interview.  Gettleman should have been honest from the get-go. If he had, I'm guessing that there would have still been a lot of hurt, but not a lot of hurt feelings (if you get what I'm saying). At the very least, at this point everyone involved (including the fans) would have gotten used to the Smitty-less Panthers, because we would have had time to digest that bittersweet pill. But, no, the FU had to force that bitter pill down our throats. None of us should have been subjected to this.

And, after all of this, Mr. Jerry Richardson ain't had a motherfuging thing to say. Even Jerry fuging Jones made a statement after the Cowboys cut DeMarcus Ware.  Hmmph? What's that? Smitty hasn't been cut.  Well, we all know it's a fuging formality, and after all that has gone down for the last few weeks, I really don't want to hear poo from Richardson anyway. What the fug can he say? I don't even want to hear it now. It's too damned late. Just keep pushing the company line which means don't say a motherfuging word.

The only thing that could make me madder at this point is the day that I see someone else wearing 89.  I know, it will never happen.  But I never thought this kind of bullshit would happen either.

And, yes, I feel a little better right now. Goodnight. I'm going to bed.

Stop, just stop. This isn't just for you but this is for everyone who thinks the sky is falling or this team will be 2-14 next year and it's all gettlemans fault.

Do us sane and rational thinking people with out emotions in check and just take a break from the cause your crying fits are getting old and have little factual accuracy

yeh.. my DG clock is running real low.

I don't want to be the team that just picks up some scrubs.

People are like Oo000o look at last year. Yeah we got some guys barely for a one year deal.. Mitchell was probably the best out of the bunch and he is not staying.

We kick out and call out our franchise player, one of the if not the main guy of the entire Franchise. Who wants to play for some dickhead that does that to him? Now its turning out this story line.. "steve smith wasnt a good guy anyway... tattoos.. he cussed... he fought" like some super conservative poo.. WHO wants to come to carolina and play for that? I love my panthers but DAMN the rest of the teams are taking a HUGE step up this offseason.

It doesn't matter when dg made the decision to start a new era. People who disagree still would have disagreed. I also love smitty, but it was going to happen eventually. DG has been hired to be the team's HR man. It's what he's paid to do. The sooner you accept it the better it will be for you. The Hurney days of blind emotional loyalty are gpne. Like him or not, there's a new sherrif in town. And he's running a BUSINESS not some cozy good fellas country club.

except for when did the panthers front office ever complain about Smittys tats or cussing? I guess people will see what they want to see. I would like Smitty back if possible too,but please keep it real. We don't need dramatization.

    • Like many of the old heads, I’ve been here for a long time.  I got a lot of respect for everyone on this board for your dedication to this team.  We’ve all been through it during the tougher years. At this point in life, I’m not one to judge anyone’s level of dedication, or their reasons why anymore.  Time, and a lot of bad football, will do that.  For me, it’s simple.  We share a common bond.  For that, I love and appreciate all of you crazy SOB’s. For me, last season was at a minimum, entertaining.  BY lead a young team to multiple come from behind 4th qtr wins.  That showed me heart, and that he has the clutch gene.  That’s the wildcard intangible.  For me, that was fun to watch even  if it was mindbogglingly frustrating at times.  Over the past two seasons, we have progressively built a better team around him.  On paper, the defense should be better this season.  That’ll help.  Let’s see what he can do as the other guys continue to develop too.  Besides, his contract is cheap for a few more years, and we just made some smart cap decisions during the draft. Let’s see how it shakes out.
    • Hiring Shula & his Cam save us playbook.
    • I would very much liked to have seen Jake Delhomme's career if Tommy Jone no hurt Jake.  I just know that roster and the leadership were destined to hit paydirt but Jake was never the same after the elbow injury, and unfortunately he was the sole reason they didn't make it back to the big one.  I think that 08 team was the best in the league, and Jake masked his inability well all season til the Arizona game put it all on display.  I'll go back to the season prior even and say the 07 team was primed to be a competitor.  Jake was off to a fantastic start that year (for a Panthers QB).  They may have been a championship caliber club for a few seasons after 08 too.
