My irrelevant take on recent shenanigans...

I'll keep it concise and try to contribute haha:

-This Gettleman fellow has a sack of cajones being this patient and letting things fall the way they have the last few days.  It shows me he is extremely confident in his drafting and band-aid finding abilities.  Since he was successful year one in this regard, I'm giving him year two.

-I don't like how the Smith thing played out but whatever.  I'm moving on.

-No matter who we gather at WR, you have to imagine we can have the same production as last year.  Admit it: last year on offense Cam was our sole playmaker and Ginn sorta reminded us of one. If we need to nuke the field to build something stronger, why not before it's too late.  That receiving corps and the offense we were running did NOT gel.

-I think it's exciting to assemble a whole new crop and am cool with us passing on a lot of these FA WRs.  Very few of these guys have that explosive potential at a young age where we can get an ideal lean deal.  Emmanuel Sanders is the closest thing imo.  Tate was the more expensive other.

-Hopefully we have a focus on finding a future LT.  This is a good tackle class and I think a lot have NFL caliber LT potential in our first few rounds.

-College Basketball

Beach

Watching Cam getting raped and having a mental breakdown by the end of the season should be enjoyable.

Only concern for me is that Gman was passed over for many years as a GM and we all wondered why. Maybe his business sense is spot-on but his cut throat attitude was seen by others and scared them away. Just guessing of course but if he lands us as a year after year playoff team with a eventual SB then none of this will matter.

I think we'll be pleasantly surprised by how our young ones fill in. It sure sucks seeing all of these subtractions and no additions, but it will pan out and our core will shine on. You can't build a sustained success through free agency. You build through the draft and compliment via FA. It's risky putting all your chips down on the draft, but that's how it's gonna have to play out this year. Every year all the big names (and even mediocre names) get over payed in FA, and every year most of them don't live up to their huge contracts. I know it's hard right now, but for some reason I'm optimistic about the 2014 season...

I think I would be more confident right now if Gross had not retired.  We could have double dipped at WR like at DT and if we tooke the right guys things could be great.  At this point I am afraid that it will be difficult to both protect Cam and give him all of the weapons he needs.

tbh I completely agree.  Gross' retirement was the biggest hit.  Cam's blind side and his #1WR are the 2 most important positions to solidify right now and they need to act on them by the end of the draft.  If not, that is what would 100% disappoint me.  I'm fine for now.
