Pretty sure he's been overlooked for a GM job numerous times, I mean, he's pretty damn old.

okay. so would you have preferred to hire someone else? even though gettleman had a great draft and picked up plenty of spare parts that helped us get five more wins than the year before?

Actually that's a good idea. If you watched some of the bull last year with the o line and keeping fua. Hell some of us would have this team right with just plain common sense

Oh, I'm sure you'd make a great NFL GM.

You won a bunch of championships in Madden, right?

Cam need to open his fugging mouth And say something and not be a house cat like McNabb was.

I'm not saying or inferring that he wants to, but he can't do that. This is the first year the media allowed him to move up a rung from "fake, thief, probably kills drifters" to "probably still fake, but maybe getting it??". He says anything negative about the team and his rep goes right back into the toilet.

I believe Mitchell had more INTs than our entire remaining WRs had catches last year.

Shame on you TD for making such a comment.  Don't you know it is all part of a master plan and there is only 1 road out of cap hell.  DG's two safeties and Ginn saved your ass last year.  Have faith brother!  He will do it again.

Take a bite from our Big Bowl of Sanity thread.  You'll feel better.

He said he could see himself catching passes from Cam.

Right, but what he did NOT say is "I can see myself catching passes from Cam because I really want to be back in Charlotte and am willing to do whatever it takes to make that happen."

Cam's a good quarterback. Most receivers could probably see themselves catching passes from him.

I'm just commenting on the people saying "OMG We couldn't even get him to come home!!!!!11!!!!1!!one" and "We had home court advantage." That's not necessarily a "thing" no matter how much fans want to believe it is.

So we brought him in for a visit to tell him that we didn't want him?!?!

That makes sense in a weird way I guess.

Couldn't be we wanted to have him looked out by the doctors and talk to him and then we decided we had no interest.  Ever go look at a car and decide you didn't want it?  You might be interested in a car but not that car even though you went to see it.

Why in the sam hill would you waste your time looking at a car that you had no interest in?

I could see going to see a car and realizing that it wasn't the one for me, but going to see a car that I had no interest in? Not buying that.

Cam saying anything negative about the Front Office would change nothing except cause media controversy. Gettleman has his idea of what he wants to do with the limited amount of money the panthers has to use.

We didn't bring him in for a visit.

We didn't call him.

We didn't make him an offer.

We weren't interested,

There was a rumor. It was false.  That's all.

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
