Brandon Lafell to the Patriots

Recommended Posts

lol he came here to talk "trash" about "getting" lafell and realized that entirety of this fanbase could not be more thrilled.

probably just an alt of some dumbass on this site with nothing to do screwing around

note how his username hits on the trope of an "arrogant yankee asshole" that a lot of people in the south hate.

Ah, number one, who the hell is not clam?

Number two, you are not joking about Winston leaving FSU next year. You are joking about the Panthers drafting him.

I am merely pointing out what I have been told about Winston and his plans to play baseball.

It's not that serious.

You lost your poo over one sentence, a joke involving your qb, with paragraphs of stupidity. As a state fan I have been there done that with Russell Wilson. The only difference here is that Winston has the opportunity to be the first pick and guaranteed tons of money. He isn't going to give that up because he plays baseball on the side. Bookmark this post if you'd like. You have deluded yourself over an article because you are a homer that wants him to stay as long as possible. You have no credibility.

lol dude. I have no idea what you are talking about. It's not that serious. Even as a Seminole. It is not that serious. In fact, I would rather Winston cash in as soon as possible.

As for your contention: Matt Leinart, Matt Barkley, Andrew Luck, Landry Jones...even Maroita and Hundley. I am sure I am missing others.

The opportunity to be the first pick to me may be too good to pass but to Winston he may actually want to finish his degree and play baseball.

This is not some unheard of/ unprecedented move even for a projected NO. 1 overall college QB.

    • I’m not mad at Moehrig.  He’s great at what he does.  And to be honest, a lot of my favorite safeties in our history were box-first type guys - Maxie, Minter, Mike Mitchell, Chris Harris…  they’re first and foremost objective was to put people on their backs and coverage was secondary.  There is a place for that.  There is a definite need for that.  Physical guys that set the tone.  So cool, we have that in Moerhig. But what we have lacked for the vast majority of our existence is a true free safety that cleans everything up on the back end.  Sometimes they come in the form of a JOAT, like Peppers.  I think he would be a fantastic compliment to Moehrig’s strengths and weaknesses.  If we don’t go after him, I certainly hope Ransom is given the chance to grow and develop in real-time with real game reps, because what he did in preseason was very encouraging to see.  I hope he can grow into that roaming center fielder with a little bit of an edge to him as an enforcer as well.  He has the tools.  In the meantime, adding Peppers would only help.
    • Option 1 is most likely. Even if he kills it this year, it wouldn't be prudent to rush an extension for one good season. If you have to pay him more because you waited another year, then he earned it. And that's OK. Adjust accordingly.
    • Cam had the advantage of having a very strong supporting cast his first 2 seasons. Things definitely worsened later on. But those first couple of years can kill a QB. Some never truly recover. If they do recover it takes years, and usually with another team. Trying to learn to be an NFL QB with TEs and WRs that are trying to learn too is a recipe for disaster. Imagine if Cam's rookie season was that 2014 offensive squad. Changes everything! I said it when they moved up in 2023. This team wasn't ready for a rookie QB yet. Anyone that thinks Stroud would have been a lot better is delusional. The correct formula is to build a strong team and then you go get your rookie QB. Not the other way around. BY is going into his third season and we're still trying to put a respectable group of WRs and TEs around him. I think they have the right personnel now. Unfortunately they haven't developed into actual NFL players yet.  This season we should expect consistency and aggressiveness from BY. Mostly for his development but also to DEVELOP his young cast.
