Next priority... OT options (draft?)

I imagine at least one decent veteran OT gets released by somebody else in camp this summer.  I know we don't want to wait for that to happen but it wouldn't shock me if whoever that ends up being ends up playing a great deal for us next season.  Kind of like some of the interior olinemen have done for us in recent seasons.

I haven't seen Getty do anything other that what he has publicly stated several times

when he got here.

1.  He values draft picks.

2. He wants BPA period.

3.  He uses FA to fill holes so he can draft BPA.

4.  "We're in cap hell".  We'll sign overlooked vets to minimum contracts until the cap situation is fixed.

Now with that said, why does everyone keep thinking our first round pick is a lock at position of need?

I think we'll get a good value DB in the first.  If Dave likes a WR or OT in the first, fine, but he drafted a

DE in New York when they had other holes to fill.

I trust in Getty.  Some of you drama posters need to prepare for the first round, and probably second.

Bpa can mean anything. It's simply the best player available that will fit the system and be most productive based on their scouting etc.

A WR can be very productive for our team and LT is one of the most critical positions, therefore, Hogmolly's are going to carry a premium and he has stated as much.

Because of our dominant front, dbs are devalued. In fact, dbs may have close to the least value of any position on our team, unless they are really big and really fast playmakers.

Underwood is a guy that should realistically be competing for a roster spot based on what he's shown us throughout the course of his career. He's been a bubble guy for a reason.

If were lucky we still have two starters to find with Cotchery working the middle of the field.

No both those guys are at best 3-4 WRs. We need to use 28 for a big time WR. Much as I know we need some help at LT. Having a a rookie LT ain't going help any when don't a number 1 WR for Cam to throw to or any good WRs to even get open. I think the first 2 picks should be used at WR  and 3 round and beyond on olineman. That's my best guess right now.
